This episode is dedicated to Dr. William West, an incredible human being and physician who died by suicide this spring. We hope that this conversation, and conversations like it, can help change the rhetoric around medical training.
In this episode, we are joined by Dr. Jess Zhu, a PGY3 internal medicine resident, and our producer Bejan Saeedi to discuss the recent "Not Otherwise Specified" podcast episode entitled "Tough Love." This is a departure from our normal format but we thought it was important to add the perspective of current medical trainees to this conversation.
We would love to hear your thoughts on this topic - reach out to us on intagram or X or through our website.
Thanks to our very special guest Dr. Jess Zhu

In this 3 part series we will be talking to fourth-year medical students as they go through the match process. There has been a lot of attention on ERAS and the Match and instead of directly reviewing those institutions, we wanted to get a sense of what the on-the-ground experience of current medical students is as they go through the process of applying, interviewing, and matching to residency.
