In this episode, Thomas Domville revisits how to use Back Tap on iOS.
Back tap is a feature that takes advantage of an iPhone’s accelerometer to detect taps on the back of the device. These taps can be mapped to toggle accessibility settings on and off, perform VoiceOver functions, access system features of iOS, or run Siri shortcuts. Back taps can be configured to perform system-wide functions of iOS by going to Settings > Accessibility > Touch > Back Tap, choosing either a double or triple-tap, and selecting the function you want to map that gesture to. Note that this list is organized by heading for ease of navigation.
In addition, you can configure back taps to perform VoiceOver functions by going to Settings > Accessibility > VoiceOver > Commands > Touch gestures, choosing either a double or triple-tap under the "Back tap" heading, and selecting the function you want to map that gesture to. Similar to the list of system-wide functions, this list is organized by heading.
