Against all odds, the pagan prostitute Rahab believed in God and had true, genuine faith.  Her faith was active and alive and caused her to step out.  There was great risk, but she finally understood there were great rewards – salvation by God.  Today, Pastor John will challenge you to live out your faith like Rahab and boldly share Him with others.  She was grateful for her salvation and wanted her loved ones saved as well.  She had an excitement and an urgency to share God with her family.

Rahab led a vile and sinful life.  She was destined for judgment and was far outside God’s covenant promises.  Yet somehow, even this pagan prostitute came to a saving faith in God.  As Pastor John teaches today, God, in His love and mercy, saved her by grace.  Like Rahab, everyone was a sinner under condemnation until you believed in Jesus.  She had a courageous and powerful faith in God.   She was willing to risk everything for her belief in God.  Are you willing to give God everything as well?

When you step into a life of faith or follow God’s call in faith, it can feel overwhelming and perhaps a little frightening.  It’s easy to see the enemies in front of you, the required work or the sacrifices necessary to walk in obedience where God has called.  Yet, as Pastor John reminds you today, God doesn’t call you to anything alone.   He promises to be with you and enable every step you take in faith.  As you live a life of service glorifying God, trust him.  He’s faithful to every promise he’s made to you!

One leading cause of divorce is hard-heartedness.  When either the husband or wife has a hard heart, it is tough to heal a marriage.  You only seek your own desires and destroy your spouse in the process.  Today, Pastor John will encourage you to pray continually for a soft heart.  Pray that God will guard you against selfishness, bitterness, and covetousness.  Pray for your spouse often in these same ways.  Always stay humble and willing to sacrifice for him or her.  In these ways, God can reconcile difficult marriages.

Many people enter into marriage thinking that divorce is always an option if it doesn’t work out.  Yet, as Pastor John teaches today, divorce should never be a consideration for believing couples.  Society paints divorce as an easy way out and the path to personal happiness again.  Yet, God desires you to work at reconciliation and restoration of your marriage.  It can be hard work, but if you trust God to help you, he can heal a broken marriage.  Let God guide your marriage, not society!

Some Christians believe that sexual intimacy in marriage is meant only for procreation.  It’s just a necessary evil to create a family and a legacy.  Yet, as Pastor John explains today, it’s a good gift from God, meant to bring joy and unity to the husband and wife.  It’s a natural desire man has, and when experienced as God has intended, it can bring amazing closeness and pleasure.  It’s an integral part of marriage and should be enjoyed so Satan can’t tempt you away from each other.
