Transitioning a Church to a House of Prayer - Why it Rarely Works...and Why it's a Powerful Move...
Transitioning our church to a house of prayer was a revealing process:
I discovered that many people enjoyed worship but not intercession.
They valued developing human relationships much more than developing intimacy with Jesus.
They were more comfortable in a typical Sunday service than in a spontaneous, prophetic service.
They were mostly looking for teaching that offered tips for successful living.
The idea of having vision for regional transformation was foreign to them.
A focus on revival was not attractive to them.
They enjoyed soaking in God's presence but not contending for transformation.
A focus on the end-times was irritating.
Spiritual warfare was unnecessary to them.
Saying prayers was okay, but praying fervently as a lifestyle was too costly.
