In today's message we discuss whether this is a command or a request. Often this verse is taken out of context and used as a weapon to control and manipulate behavior. Is it possible that it is an invitation from a loving Father delivered by a loving brother to avoid the snare of the enemy and be able to experience the peace that only God can provide through His Word? 

1 Kings 1.11-14

How consistent are you in the study of God's Word? On today's podcast we discuss the value of God's Word to the believer, and the importance of "attending", "listening", and "applying" the Word. 

In Ephesians 6:17 Paul refers to the Word of God as a "sword". It is the only offensive weapon listed in the armor he details. God did not intend for us to remain crouched in a corner, hiding from every rumor of trouble. He also does not want us to take out a carnal weapon and fight our battles through natural means. In today's message we discuss the Word of God being the weapon that fights our real battle, the spiritual battel that takes place in our minds daily. David did not win a victory when he slung the stone and struck Goliath, he won the victory when he determined to obey the Word of the Lord and follow through with His command.
