1 Kings 1:11-14

On today's podcast we discuss the critic. Some folks feel like it is there responsibility, their calling within the body of Christ to find fault with everything that happens. Sometimes without them realizing it, they may very well be criticizing the work of God because they can't see His hand at work since it doesn't line up with their opinion of how it should be done. Today we talk about the local church body, the role of the pastor in the local church body, the Asbury revival, and more. 

Revelation 11:15-16

In John 1:1 we are told "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God". In today's message we discuss these three statements, focusing especially on the phrase "the Word was with God". The word with can be translated as "toward", therefor John is saying the Word was face to face with God. Jesus is the Word, so the idea here is that Jesus was a mirror image of the character of the Father. We discuss the character of God, His name, as defined in Exodus 34:6. Can the same be said of us as believers? 

In 2 Timothy 3:1-7, Paul tells Timothy to beware of those who hold a "form of godliness". On today's podcast we discuss what Paul meant by that and whether his teaching is still applicable to the Church today. 

In this study we cover the Kingdom of Christ, the one thousand year reign of Jesus on the Earth. We will outline the timeline leading up to, during, and after the Millennial Reign of Christ, the character of His Kingdom, and also do a thorough explanation of the First and Second Resurrections, ie the resurrection to life and the resurrection to death.  

In Hosea 4:1, God tells His people through Hosea the prophet that he has a problem with them. Specifically that there are three things missing; truth, mercy, and knowledge of God. To know God is to know His character. In today's message we discuss just what the character of God is and why God is upset with the lack of truth, mercy, and knowledge of Him.  

What is the character of God? We are given an clear image throughout scripture of His character on display in the lives of His people, namely in the profession that permeates their resumes...Shepherd. To love the sheep, to feed the sheep, to defend the sheep, to lay down your life for the sheep; all of these portray the character of God, and these same traits will be found in His children. The clear distinction between Adonijah and his father David is astounding. One thought only of himself, the other thought of the sheep. Which one best exemplifies the character of God? The shepherd. 

What does repentance mean? On today's podcast we discuss how repentance is not a one time event, but rather a continual process in the life of a believer. None of us are perfect after salvation, we are always being corrected in some way. It is not the will of God that we live in a constant state of fear and guilt, instead the Holy Spirit is daily helping us to become aware of, acknowledge, and allow Him to correct us for our betterment and the betterment of others.  

The Bible does not hide David's sins, it reveals them for all to see. Not to shame David, not just to give us an image of the pain that sin caused in David's life, but in order that we might see the amazing grace of God. Is it possible that God also revealed all of David's flaws in order to show us that none of us can ever live perfectly? Maybe He wants us to trust in Him and His righteousness instead of our own? In today's study we dig into the actions of David, God's love for him, and how it relates to us today.
