Fr. John concludes the message series looking at the last two Qualities of a Faithful Disciple --- INVEST and SMALL GROUPS. We need to commit ourselves to Jesus and the Church while also forming long term and short term small groups to support one another.

It is Thanksgiving weekend and we have a lot to be thankful for!!  The gospel for this weekend is all about mercy, new life and going to the fringes of society to embrace those in need.  Giving thanks to God by sharing His love is the best way to celebrate this weekend and always!!

Fr. John continues this message series focusing on two more Qualities of a Faithful Disciple - PRAYER & SACRAMENTS and SHARE & INVITE. We need to pray and celebrate the sacraments to increase our faith so that we can share our faith story with others and invite them to encounter the risen Lord in our faith community.

Increase of faith---this was asked by the Apostles to the Lord.  We too want to increase our faith but often for our own benefit.  As faithful disciples, we should do what is right because it is so---and our faith calls us to serve.  May we always have faith like Christ who was obedient even to death.  Living the gospel each day will definitely increase our faith!!

This weekend we hear the gospel of the rich man and Lazarus.  How often do we pass by and intentionally ignore those who are in need of material things but most especially a connection---to be included.  This gospel is a stark reminder of our responsibility to serve, support and embrace those who are suffering.  We are called to be Christ for one another.

Fr. John continues with the second homily of the GAME PLAN message series focusing on two qualities of being a faithful disciple---we are called to SERVE and seek FORMATION to be faithful followers of the Lord.

Fr. John begins this new message series that seeks to explain the pastoral strategic plan for the Chatham Catholic Family of Parishes for the next number of years. He begins with the pillars for the family of FORMING DISCIPLES who REACH OUT TO ALL.

We cannot serve two masters---who are we going to serve?  Jesus makes it very clear in the gospel that we cannot balance living for ourselves and for him.  We have to decide.  Our parish communities are great places for us to find out that serving the Lord brings us completion and fulfillment.  Listen for more!!

What does a lost sheep and a lost coin have to do with our faith?  Jesus in the gospel reminds us that we are all about seeking out those in need of God's love, healing, grace and hope.  Our world is missing the heart of what it is to be truly alive.  It is up to us to shine the light of the gospel in our world today.
