It was a wild night at Gillette that saw the Revs and St. Louis split four goals evenly, an epic downpour throughout the second half, a controversial night from referee Tim Ford and a total loss of emotional control from Caleb Porter in his post match press conference.

New England returned to MLS league play following the leagues cup and earned a 5-0 win in Montreal with goals from Bobby Wood, Nick Lima, Giacomo Vrioni and Luca Langoni. The Revolution did what they needed to do to top their Leagues Cup group by securing a 1-1 draw in regular time against Nashville. The subsequent shootout had no effect on the standings at all and yet it did take place anyway.
