Welcome to a special episode of Revolutions of Our Time! Today we are looking at an election which has made headlines around the world: the Clacton by-election.

This election was a stunt called by far-right politician Nigel Farage, who resigned his seat in Clacton as a way of driving attention away from the investigation into parliamentary misconduct of which he was accused.

Knowing that this was a stunt, the major political parties of the UK boycotted the by-election, leaving only one credible opponent for Farage: Count Binface, a Recyclon from the planet Sigma IX.

While this is undoubtedly a strange election, novelty and satirical candidates have a long history in the United Kingdom, which Sam and Adam take a long look at.

This by-election is happening now! We will post an update later to analyse what happened.

Though the Khalistan movement is best known for its action in the 1980s, it remains powerful today and Khalistan separatists have been the target of assassinations by (allegedly) the Indian government in Canada.

In our third episode on Iran, Sam and Adam discuss the events leading up to and following the 1979 Revolution and how these created the conditions necessary for what is happening today.

This time period saw Iran transform from an ally to the United States and Israel, to part of the "Axis of Evil" described by George W. Bush in 2002.

We look at how a broad coalition of anti-Shah protestors became the Islamic Revolution, and how the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps took total control of the country.

We also look at Irans nuclear ambitions, strategies to disarm the country, and how the current US administration destroyed those agreements, leading them to escalate into the brutal bombardment we see today.
