Rewatching Oscar with Jack Ferdman
In this episode, Jack goes in-depth about a very serious and sensitive topic... addiction, and more specifically alcoholism. He delves deep into how important the film The Lost Weekend is (the Best Picture winner of 1945) and how Billy Wilder's style of filmmaking handles this issue that plagued so many Americans after WWII. It's an important film in cinema history as it was the first feature to treat this topic directly. Was the great story, handled so brilliantly by Wilder, the incredible editing and score, and of course the Oscar-winning performance of Ray Milland, enough to have Jack give it the Rewatch Oscar of 1945? It was a weak year for Hollywood movies ... but there were several brilliant films that he might give the award to. Listen and find out.

In this episode, Jack talks about divorce. No, not his! He focuses on Kramer vs. Kramer, the first film to tackle divorce from the man's perspective. Great performances by Dustin Hoffman, Meryl Streep, and deliciously cute Justin Henry, and with amazing direction and a great script, Jack goes even deeper discussing how important this movie was at the time. 1979 had many amazing films come out that year ... however, was the multi-Oscar winning Kramer vs. Kramer truly the best of the bunch? Jack will let you know.

Selznick, to make this timeless, gothic thriller, which captivated audiences and critics alike back in 1940 and still does today. In this episode, Jack shares his passion for the master of suspense and Rebecca. However, does his love for this classic make it his choice for the best picture of that year, or does he give his Rewatch Oscar to another great film? Listen in and tell us what you think.

Rewatching Oscar with Jack Ferdman
In this episode, Jack channels his emotional side when talking about the mother/daughter relationship in the Oscar-winning film from 1983, Terms of Endearment. The soap-opera style formula, put together by director James L. Brooks, was a huge success both critically and at the box office when it was first released. Does it still make you get the kleenex box out when watching it again? Well, listen and find out what Jack thinks of this five-time Academy Award winner, as well as many of the other greats (and not-so-great) of that year.

In this episode, Jack tackles the classic Oscar-winning musical, Gigi. It was a huge favourite when it came out due to many factors, including being a successful Broadway musical in the early 1950s. However, does it hold up? Is Gigi still as fun and light-hearted as fans remember it? Leslie Caron and Louis Jordan may be great to look at, and Maurice Chevalier is as charming as they come, but is it enough for Jack to give it the Re-watch Oscar? Listen and find out.
