I'm joined this week by a new and dear friend, Sandra Westein. Sandra is from the Netherlands but now lives and works in Ferragudo, a small fishing village in the Algarve. If that sounds familiar it might be because it was the location for our 2023 Unapologetic Retreat.

Not only did she make the bold move from the Netherlands to the Algarve, but she now refuses to play small and limit herself to just one aspect of her business. She's a true multi-passionate and has curated a life and business she loves:

The term ‘going all in’ is often bandied about in business circles (ooh 'bandied about' - haven't used that expression for a while - I like it - mental note to use it more often!

Going all in is actually a high-stakes poker metaphor that’s come to stand for risking everything on a big idea or decision.

Yet, beyond the gamble and the bravado, what does it really feel like to commit yourself entirely to a path, a project, or a passion? To stop compromising and, instead, choose yourself for success?

This week on the Heads Together podcast, I'm debunking the entitlement mindset surrounding social media and sharing insights on how successful businesses navigate various platforms.

Angry at the algorithm? Not seeing the results you expected from your social media efforts? Listen in as I address these frustrations head-on.

The entitlement mindset shows up like this:

'The algorithm doesn't show my posts to anyone'

'There's no point in using Instagram unless you want to do video'

'My Facebook feed is full of rubbish'

Time for a paradigm shift: Social media platforms don't exist to make us rich. They exist to make their shareholders rich... and that's their prerogative.

We need to remember that social media is primarily for relationship building (that's how they keep our eyes on the platforms to satisfy their paying advertisers). The (free) advertising opportunities for us are a perk.
