Rewind, Repeat Podcast

Episode 51 with the exception of a quick 5-6minute spiel to start hasn't gone back to the original format, just the interview. Didn't feel quite right bring back to the regular segments just yet but they will return next week.

Mossy goes into his background moving around as a youth and landing in Perth with his family, discovering punk and hardcore, then discovering the domestic scenes, and (I did not know this) helping to build the Perth Hardcore scene from the ground up. The early shows, the early venues, the early bands, the opening of HQ and lots more.

Episode 50 is once again dedicated to amplifying the voices that need to be amplified - but in a different way. It's a listening party featuring 20 bands that platform BIPOC members.

Acknowledgment of country/episode prelude/ep49 recap/welcome to country app/bands donating money/other BLM fundraising initiatives/documentary suggestions/a minutes silence at 08:46 in memory of George Floyd/getting comfortable being uncomfortable/listening party.

Special thank you to Rose Wadsworth, Jefferson McCarthy, Joel Dobbie, Adam McArthur, Tyronne Gietzmann, Anaiah Lei and all the bands not only for letting me play their music but also for the incredible support of the idea behind this episode.

This week the podcast belongs to the voices that need to be amplified.

Tyronne Gietzmann (08:49 - 47:05)

Anaiah Lei (47:05 - 01:46:39)

Joel Dobbie (01:46:39 - 02:54:55)

Thank you to my guests for speaking and additional thanks to Rose Wadsworth, Jefferson McCarthy, Tish Rico and Pete Jackson without whom this episode would not have come to be.

Welcome!

While episode 47 is still interview based and has all the regular stuff, it's formatted a little differently.

Episode kicks off with a week recap and new music by Bled Out, Wishful Thinking and Psalm.

I didn't have any content banked this week but saw an opportunity to shed some light on some of the cool stuff that's currently going on that people can get behind. And instead of gathering info to regurgitate, I invited the brains behind each operation to explain it themselves.

Andy from Mongrel Merchandise, Rose of All Grrrl Assault Zine and Robert of The Lair/OZHC Digital Archive all join me individually to deep dive into their respective projects, share the backstories behind them, what their plans are, where their proceeds go and let you know where to find them/how to contribute.

New crew, same dribble.

It's the rambler 2.

This time joined by CJ and Danielle (Best Wishes Records), Elliot Dobie (Kid Presentable) and Brad Vincent (Rebirth).

Noncore all timers. Elliot defends the Canberra scene. Is pop punk good? Crying at shows. Mosh injuries. Secret shames.

We can ramble.

It's all in the title.

Blkout vs Iron Mind.

Two of Australia's hardest hitters head to head in a release-for-release discussion.

Joined by friends Adrian Kelly, Leigh Valler and Mitch Chambers - we spent the days leading up to recording listening back to both bands discographies, making notes on each of the releases and then discussed them at length.

Hope you enjoy the listen, we sure had fun doing it.

Let us know where you stand.

On your listen back, what was the best and/or your favourite record?

What's the best and/or your favourite song?

Did you find a new appreciation for something or did you revisit a record you hadn't listened to in a while?

Throw it in the comment section on IG or facebook.

More content like this to come in future.
