Why do I keep reacting this way—even when I know better?
Maybe you overthink everything. You people-please. You shut down during conflict. You become defensive when you feel criticized. You procrastinate, try to control everything, fear rejection, or sabotage the very things you prayed for.
What if the behaviour isn’t actually the root?
In Season 2, Episode 2 of Rewired for Purpose, Rosangela explores fear, emotional triggers, nervous system responses, and the beliefs beneath our reactions through the lens of Scripture and neuroscience.
Fear doesn’t always look like panic. Sometimes it looks like perfectionism, people-pleasing, control, procrastination, avoidance, anger, hyper-independence, overthinking, or shutting down.
You’ll learn how past experiences can influence the way your brain and nervous system interpret present situations, why fight, flight, freeze, and fawn responses can become automatic protective patterns, and how deeply held beliefs can keep those patterns alive.
We’ll also explore the connection between fear and strongholds, why feelings can be real without always accurately representing what is happening, and how to create space between a trigger and your response.
Most importantly, you’ll learn how to begin moving from fear to truth, from automatic reactions to intentional responses, and from self-protection to trust through nervous system regulation, biblical mind renewal, and your identity in Christ.
📖 2 Timothy 1:7 reminds us that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind.
Fear may explain how you learned to protect yourself, but fear does not have to continue leading your life.
Stay until the end for a powerful time of reflection and prayer as we invite the Holy Spirit to reveal what is underneath our reactions and begin replacing fear with truth.

Are shame, perfectionism, people-pleasing, self-sabotage, or fear of being seen keeping you hidden? In this podcast episode, Rosangela Atte explains how shame affects your spirit, soul, mind, nervous system, body, and relationship with God—and how Jesus restores the identity shame tried to steal.Welcome to Season 2 of the Rewired for Purpose Podcast.
This season, we are going deeper beneath the behaviours, emotions, thought patterns, fears, wounds and protective responses that keep us stuck. We will explore what is happening in our spirit, soul, mind, nervous system and body—and how biblical truth, neuroscience and the healing presence of God can help us become whole.
In this first episode, we are talking about shame.
Shame is one of the quietest prisons. It often hides beneath perfectionism, people-pleasing, overworking, defensiveness, isolation, self-sabotage, fear of being seen and the constant feeling that we are never enough.
Guilt says, “I made a mistake.”
Shame says, “I am the mistake.”
In this episode, we explore where shame first entered the human story in Genesis, how it caused Adam and Eve to cover themselves and hide from God, and how it disrupted the intimacy they once shared with Him.
We also look at the woman with the issue of blood. After twelve years of suffering, disappointment and social vulnerability, she approached Jesus from behind, trembling and afraid. But Jesus did not call her by her condition.
He called her:
“Daughter.”
With one word, Jesus restored her identity, dignity, belonging and peace.
You will learn:
Shame may call you by what happened to you, what you did or what you have struggled with.
But Jesus calls you by your true identity.
You are not your worst moment.
You are not what others did to you.
You are not disqualified from receiving love, mercy and restoration.
It is time to come out of hiding—not for humiliation, but for healing.
Scriptures discussed: Genesis 2–3, Mark 5:25–34, Romans 8:1, Romans 12:2, Hebrews 4:16, Hebrews 12:2, Isaiah 61:7 and John 8:36.

In this episode, we talk about how to get ready for the outpouring of God and prepare for the promises, provision, restoration, and influence He is releasing in this season. As the honey is flowing—thick, rich, heavy, and golden—the Lord Is calling His people to begin nesting. Just as a mother prepares her home before the birth of a baby, we must prepare our hearts, minds, homes, relationships, and nervous systems for what God is about to bring forth.
We look at Job 42 and how Job’s restoration came only after forgiveness, reconciliation, and intercession. We also talk about the outpouring of the Holy Spirit in Acts 2, and how unity, obedience, and waiting on the Lord prepared the disciples for the promise of the Father. This episode also weaves in faith, neuroscience, mind renewal, and nervous system regulation, so you can learn how to stay in hope, renew your thought patterns, and prepare to steward the blessing and assignment God is releasing.
If you have been in a season of waiting, wilderness, or preparation, this message will encourage you to make room, stretch your tent pegs, and get your vessels ready. The honey is flowing, and the question is: are you ready for the outpouring?

Can the Lord's Prayer actually calm anxiety, regulate the nervous system, reduce stress, and renew the mind?
In this episode of Rewired for Purpose, Christian Life & Brain Coach Rosangela Atte explores the fascinating connection between neuroscience, trauma healing, emotional regulation, and the prayer Jesus taught His disciples in Matthew 6.
Inspired by insights shared by Dr. Daniel Amen, this episode examines how each section of the Lord's Prayer impacts the brain, emotions, attachment systems, stress response, hope, surrender, forgiveness, and peace.
Together we'll explore:
✨ The neuroscience of prayer
✨ Nervous system regulation
✨ Anxiety and overthinking
✨ Trauma and emotional healing
✨ Attachment and identity
✨ Dopamine, cortisol, and stress
✨ Forgiveness and emotional freedom
✨ Biblical mind renewal

If you've ever struggled with anxiety, fear, people-pleasing, perfectionism, emotional overwhelm, trauma responses, or feeling disconnected from God, this episode will show you how Jesus provided a pathway to peace long before neuroscience had language for it.
This episode was inspired by insights shared by Dr. Daniel Amen. Credit and appreciation to Dr. Amen for his thought-provoking observations regarding the Lord's Prayer and brain health, which inspired this discussion through the lens of Scripture, identity, trauma healing, and nervous system regulation.

There’s a tension many believers don’t talk about.
You trust God.
You believe His promises.
But when the path ahead is unclear… something in you resists.
Not because your faith is weak.
But because your brain was wired to seek certainty.
In this episode, we unpack the paradox of faith—the space where your spirit is ready to follow God, but your mind is asking for proof.
You’ll understand:
Through biblical examples like Abraham, Moses, Esther, and Peter, you’ll see that God has always worked this way—inviting His people to move before they fully understand.
This is not confusion.
This is formation.
Faith is not built in full visibility.
It’s built in the willingness to take the next step when you don’t have all the answers.
If you’re in a season where you feel stretched, uncertain, or even hesitant, this episode will anchor you, ground you, and remind you:
You are not lost.
You are being led.

There are moments in your life when everything around you says “stay back”…
but something inside of you says “press in.”
In this episode, we go deep into the story of the woman with the issue of blood (Luke 8:43–48) — not just as a miracle, but as a blueprint for healing, identity, and transformation through faith in Jesus.
For twelve years she lived in shame, isolation, rejection, and emotional pain. She had exhausted every option, spent everything she had, and was left without hope.
But one act of bold faith — one moment of pressing through the crowd — activated dunamis power, the miraculous power of God that restores spirit, soul, and body.
In this episode, you’ll discover:
✨ How faith is not passive — it moves, it presses, it reaches✨ The deeper meaning of aptomai (to cling, attach, fasten yourself to Jesus)✨ How dunamis power brings healing beyond the physical — including emotional and psychological restoration✨ How Jesus calling her “Daughter” (thygater) restored her identity, belonging, and dignity✨ The connection between trauma, shame, the nervous system, and how faith rewires the brain✨ What it takes to move past fear, survival patterns, and limiting beliefs to receive healing
This is more than a Bible teaching.
This is a prophetic invitation.
I believe God is releasing a dispensation — a divine outpouring — of healing upon His daughters.
Not only to heal you…
but to raise you as a woman who carries His healing power to others.
Daughter of God, this is your moment to:
Press past fear
Press past shame
Press past the lies
And reach for Jesus.
Because your healing is not far from you.
It is waiting.

There are seasons in life when the place that once nurtured your growth begins to feel tight, restrictive, and uncomfortable. What once felt like covering can start to feel like a ceiling.
In this episode, we explore a powerful truth: sometimes the discomfort you feel is not a sign that something is wrong — it’s a sign that God is expanding your capacity.
Throughout Scripture we see this pattern repeatedly. God often removes His people from familiar places in order to prepare them for greater influence and purpose.
Joseph was stripped from the comfort of his father’s house before he could govern a nation.
Esther was taken from obscurity and prepared in hiddenness before she could step into royal authority.
Daniel was removed from his homeland and placed in Babylon, where his unwavering commitment to God shaped an entire kingdom.
Expansion often comes through disruption.
But the greatest barriers to growth are not always external environments. Often the real limitations exist within our inner narrative, subconscious beliefs, and survival mechanisms formed through past wounds and experiences.
In this episode we explore:
• Why God sometimes calls us out of environments we have outgrown
• How subconscious beliefs and survival patterns form in the brain
• How trauma and past experiences shape our internal narrative
• The difference between an orphan mindset and a kingdom identity
• How neuroscience and spiritual renewal work together to transform the mind
• How obedience to God expands our influence, authority, and calling
Just like Isaiah 54 instructs us to enlarge the place of our tent, God often asks us to stretch before we see the fruit.
If you feel a holy frustration, a stirring that you cannot ignore, or a sense that the place you’re in no longer fits who you are becoming, this conversation will encourage you to embrace the process of growth and expansion.
God is not restricting you.
He is expanding your capacity.
✨ If you are ready to break the ceiling that is limiting your growth and step into the fullness of your identity and calling, I would love to walk alongside you in that journey.

Are you really “waiting on God”… or are you avoiding discomfort?
In this episode, we unpack low frustration tolerance — the hidden root behind self-sabotage, procrastination, perfectionism, and delayed obedience.
Many believers aren’t stuck because they lack calling. They’re stuck because discomfort feels unbearable. When effort, uncertainty, correction, or stretching activate the nervous system, avoidance can feel safer than obedience.
We explore how low frustration tolerance impacts you:
• Spiritually — through hesitation and partial obedience
• Mentally — through procrastination and overthinking
• Emotionally — through perfectionism and fear of exposure
• Physiologically — through nervous system dysregulation and stress responses
With biblical examples like Moses, Jonah, and the rich young ruler, and insights from neuroscience on the amygdala, neuroplasticity, and emotional regulation, this episode will challenge you to expand your capacity instead of waiting to feel ready.
Discomfort is not danger.
Growth requires tolerance.
Obedience builds resilience.
If you’re ready to stop circling and start becoming, this conversation is for you.
