God has created us as humans in his image with a great capacity to love. In the same measure, we also have the capacity to be hurt, and in a fallen world with other flawed humans in the mix, we are almost guaranteed to end up with some hurts and wounds in our hearts. Whether from words, actions, or circumstances, our hearts really take a beating.

The good news is that through the power of true forgiveness and an encounter with Jesus, not only can we be released from the bondage of bitterness, but we can also be completely healed from the inside out and have no more pain associated with the memory of the event that caused the hurt. 

In this week’s podcast, we share four simple steps to move from pain to healing through an encounter with Jesus.

1. Ask God for help: “Who or what do I need to forgive?”

2. Pray to forgive

3. Ask for healing through an encounter: “Jesus, what would you say or show me to bring peace to the pain I feel?”

4. Deal with any lies or agreements made with the enemy

In this episode, we talk about the genesis of God's original design for mankind. It's important for us to understand what it was like, that God talked with Adam and Eve every day so they lived in connection, union, and partnership. What changed when sin entered the world? The sad truth is sin broke relationship and connection with God, which ultimately leads to death. We see it in the world all around us, and yet there is a redemption story in play. God sacrificed everything to make it possible for us to re-establish relationship and connection with him through Jesus. The question is, do we realize the magnitude of what is available to us in Christ? Are we living in full connection, communication, and partnership with the spirit of God every day of our lives? The veil was torn, but sadly we put up our own veils instead. The enemy lies to us to keep us hiding in our own belief systems that hold us back from engaging with the living God who speaks! But that doesn't have to be our story. We can boldly enter the throne of grace and access our full inheritance of vibrant, active relationship with God in all areas of our lives. We can encounter Jesus every day to partner with him and experience his goodness and love towards us in all that we do. In this episode, we talk about how listening to the voice of God allows us to enter into a lifestyle of partnership with Him. In Hebrews we are invited to "enter into God's rest" and Hebrews 4:7 says: “Today when you hear His voice, don’t harden your hearts.” The basis for partnering with God and entering into His rest (your promised land) is to "HEAR HIS VOICE" and obey in faith. Of course, as the Israelites finally discovered, God is wanting to do the heavy lifting as we partner with Him--and He will accomplish the impossible when we listen to His instructions and guidance as we take possession of our promise.

This entire framework for the Christian lifestyle of faith and partnership with God is RECEIVED through relationship. This relationship is built on the foundation of being able to interact and communicate with God, which most often feels like our own inner thoughts or our imagination. Jesus has already made this invitation wide open for everyone, so let's not miss out on the incredible things God has prepared for us from before the beginning of time!
