Story Transcript:

Cy: Roedd Rhys yn sefyll yng nghanol y farchnad fywiog, ei lygaid yn symud o un stondin i'r llall.
En: Rhys was standing in the middle of the bustling market, his eyes moving from one stall to the next.

Cy: O'i amgylch, roedd lliwiau'r gwanwyn yn pefrio'n llachar fel paentiad.
En: Around him, the colors of spring shimmered brightly like a painting.

Cy: Roedd y planhigion yn burstio â bywyd, a'r arogl o fara crasu'n gymysg â persawr blodau newydd wylo.
En: The plants were bursting with life, and the aroma of freshly baked bread mingled with the scent of newly weeping flowers.

Cy: Roedd yn Saint George's Day, a'r pentref bach yn brysur.
En: It was Saint George's Day, and the small village was busy.

Cy: Roedd ei famgu'n dathlu ei phenblwydd, ac roedd Rhys wedi addo coginio cawl cig oen Cymreig hudolus iddi.
En: His grandmother was celebrating her birthday, and Rhys had promised to cook her a magical Welsh lamb soup.

Cy: Ond roedd rhybuddion am gynhaeaf gwael oherwydd y tywydd diweddar wedi bod yn poeni Rhys.
En: But warnings of a poor harvest due to the recent weather had been worrying Rhys.

Cy: Roedd angen iddo ddod o hyd i gynhwysion ffres a safonol iawn.
En: He needed to find very fresh and high-standard ingredients.

Cy: Er iddo fynd â'i fasged rhwng y stondinau, roedd rhai o'r llysiau angenrheidiol yn brin.
En: As he carried his basket between the stalls, some of the necessary vegetables were scarce.

Cy: Wrth chwilio am y persli Cymreig ffres, daeth i ben y stryd gyda'i broblem.
En: While searching for fresh Welsh parsley, he reached the end of the street with his problem.

Cy: Am hanner dydd, roedd y farchnad yn cau am ddathliadau'r diwrnod.
En: By midday, the market would close for the day's celebrations.

Cy: Roedden nhw'n rhedeg allan o amser.
En: They were running out of time.

Cy: "Ai i ddod o hyd i betrus araf arall," meddai wrth ei hun? "Neu i chwilio am help?" Cerys, gwerthwr lleol a chyfaill o'r pentref, sylwodd arno.
En: "Do I find another slow parsley," he said to himself, "or look for help?" Cerys, a local vendor and a friend from the village, noticed him.

Cy: "Mae angen rhywbeth arnat ti, Rhys?" gofynnodd hi'n garedig.
En: "Do you need something, Rhys?" she asked kindly.

Cy: Roedd ei chefnogaeth yn fyrfyfyr, ond daeth hi'n glir ei fod mewn angen.
En: Her support was spontaneous, yet it became clear he was in need.

Cy: "Ydw, mae angen llawer o gynhwysion arnaf i baratoi'r cawl cig oen," esboniodd e.
En: "Yes, I need a lot of ingredients to prepare the lamb soup," he explained.

Cy: Roedd Cerys yn gwybod am rywle ddirgel lle'r oedd Morgan, cyfaill o'r teulu hen, yn cadw stash arbennig o berlysiau naill ochr.
En: Cerys knew of a secret place where Morgan, an old family friend, kept a special stash of herbs on the side.

Cy: Gwenodd Cerys. "Gofynnwn ar Morgan. Gawn ni weld a all hi helpu di."
En: Cerys smiled. "Let's ask Morgan. Let's see if she can help you."

Cy: Daeth y ddau at stondin Morgan.
En: The two of them approached Morgan's stall.

Cy: Roedd yr hen fenyw’n eistedd gyda golwg difrifol o dan ei het eang.
En: The old woman was sitting with a serious look under her wide-brimmed hat.

Cy: "Ar gyfer Beth y mae angen y 'na arnat ti, Rhys?" gofynnodd hi, ei llais yn anfon sioc dros ei gefn.
En: "For what do you need that, Rhys?" she asked, her voice sending a shiver down his spine.

Cy: "Ai fy mamgu, ei phenblwydd yw hi," eglurodd Rhys.
En: "It's my grandmother; it's her birthday," Rhys explained.

Cy: "Rwy'n cynllunio iddi gael y cawl gorau."
En: "I'm planning for her to have the best soup."

Cy: Am funud daeth tawelwch.
En: For a moment, there was silence.

Cy: "Mae pediant yn dda," meddai Morgan, gyda'i chwil ef.
En: "Begging is good," said Morgan, with her wit.

Cy: Yn y diwedd, cefais gwell deall ei awydd i helpu.
En: In the end, I understood better her desire to help.

Cy: Myned i mewn i'w stash, tynnodd allan y perlysiau prin a rhoi iddo.
En: Going into her stash, she pulled out the rare herbs and gave them to him.

Cy: "Os gweli di fwy o herbydo i hynny, byddi'n gwybod hefyd am ddyn y ffynnon," ychwanegodd hi gyda rhyw dwyll yn ei llais, gan roi cipolwg.
En: "If you see more herbs like that, you'll also know about the well's man," she added with a slight trick in her voice, giving a wink.

Cy: "Rhowch brawf i mi am ryw fath ar fy ryseit."
En: "Give my recipe a try."

Cy: Ar yr eisteddfod, teimlodd Rhys croeso mawr.
En: At the eisteddfod, Rhys felt a great welcome.

Cy: Aeth o'r farchnad gyda hyder newydd.
En: He left the market with newfound confidence.

Cy: Dechreuodd sylweddoli na fydd hen gyfeillgarwch a chefnogaeth y gymuned byth yn anghofio.
En: He began to realize that old friendships and the community's support would never be forgotten.

Cy: "Rhaid gofyn am help pan fydd angen i'r pethau fynd yn dda," dwedodd wrth ei hun, yn cael hwb newydd o ddatrys problemau gwych ei deulu.
En: "You must ask for help when things need to go well," he said to himself, gaining a new boost in solving his family's great problems.

Cy: Roedd e'n barod nawr, yn ei wyneb, i gyflwyno pryd o fwyd perffaith i'w famgu ni fyddai byth yn anghofio.
En: He was now ready, in his face, to present a perfect meal to his grandmother she would never forget.

Cy: Roedd ei wên yn balchder o ddiolch, oherwydd nid ar ryseit yn unig, ond ar deulu a chyfeillion y mae popeth yn dibynnu.
En: His smile was prideful with gratitude, because it's not only on recipes but on family and friends that everything depends.
