Also, in this episode Ric talks about the world of sports. Along the way, he talks about people who think they know him but really don't. If you are a fan of NASCAR or the NFL, you are probably going to find some of the things Ric says about those two things a little off putting. Nevertheless, never a dull moment in Radioland. NEXT WEEK: A change is gonna come and there is nothing you can do about it....more30minPlay
February 15, 2015Episode 53: The Agency Blues (Season 5 Premiere)One of the key things internet broadcasters have to deal with is the simple act of monetizing. Advertising agencies want to see big numbers. When a broadcaster does bring those numbers, the rules seem to change. It all seems to be based in fear, of all things. In this episode, Ric takes a look (and a shot) at advertising agencies and their current attitudes toward the internet. Sadly, some of these companies still hold on to the "tried and true" terrestrial format even though 75 - 80 percent of the AM/FM audience has evaporated. Where did they go? To the internet. January 25, 2015Episode 50: Kids These DaysThere is a generation of people among us who have been vilified and probably for good reason. In this episode, Ric takes a look at the Millenial Generation. This is a group of people who are coming of age right now. The children of people who are Ric's age. Naturally, Ric has an issue with this generation and is not afraid of being labeled as an "old man" or some one who just doesn't "get it". But, this generation out there are in the driver's seat. They are the one who are steering the media we consume and how we are going to consume such stuff. Oddly, the "old man" is working in those lines and has been doing so for some time now. Of course, the Millenial Generation may be taking umbrage with that. However, does this generation have anything of worth to offer the world?...more33minPlay
