Listen Later

On the 37th episode of All Heart with Paul Cardall, the energetic, encouraging, and entrepreneurial expert Richie Norton joins Paul to talk about Richie's journey that led to some of today's biggest celebrities and executives seeking him out for help to them fulfill their best life. Born in San Diego, a surfer, now living on the North Shore of Oahu, Richie opens up about losing his youngest son recently and how that has effected his family, business, and overall mindset. Millions of entrepreneurial-minded people have studied Richie Norton's best-selling book, "The Power of Starting Something Stupid." Paul and Richie's discussion feels like a masterclass in how to built your career around family time instead of building family time around your career.

Perfect book for these uncertain times.” — Steve Forbes, Chairman and Editor-in-Chief of Forbes Media

“Once in a great while a new author bursts on the scene to light a fire under us. Richie Norton is that rare spark. His certainty that the secret to success is to start something stupid is right on and will alter your future. Thirty publishers thought Chicken Soup was stupid before it sold over 100 million copies. This new book could not have come at a better time and Richie’s urgent and authentic style is readable, convincing and a compelling blueprint for success. Be smart: read The Power of Starting Something Stupid.” — Jack Canfield, New York Times bestselling author of The Success Principles, and co-creator of the Chicken Soup for the Soul® series

ABOUT PAUL CARDALL

Steinway & Sons considers him one of the world’s finest pianists. Dove Award-winning musician, composer, and producer, Paul Cardall’s music has been streamed on platforms worldwide 3 billion times. With 11 No. 1 Billboard albums, 30 million monthly listeners and 3 million subscribed fans on social media, Paul is one of the biggest selling recording artists of our time.

Paul was born with essentially half a heart and before his first day was finished, surgeons had cut into his infant body to save his life. He would spend virtually all of his life in and out of hospitals and recovering from surgeries. He received a heart transplant in 2009. Living with congenital heart disease has helped Paul understand the trauma imposed, particularly on a young person and their families. Cardall has made it his life’s mission to create and share piano music that is healing both physically and emotionally.

Two of the many projects he’s involved with include partnering with the The Ryan Seacrest Foundation to donate keyboards to children’s hospitals nationwide. Cardall has established scholarships for students affected by medical bills associated with congenital heart disease because he believes in getting an education regardless of terminal diagnosis.

Earlier this year Cardall released a music project titled The Broken Miracle, featuring special guests including David Archuleta, Tyler Glenn (Neon Trees), Ty Herndon, Rachel Yamagata, Thompson Square, Matt Hammitt and many others. The Broken Miracle album chronicles his life dealing with congenital heart disease, through his transplant 12 years ago.

The pianist recently released two unique versions of his much-anticipated upcoming instrumental project December.  Both versions of the album feature 14 tracks in a minimalist classical style, and all are original compositions by Cardall, with the exception of “Hush, Little Baby.” The pianist takes listeners on a journey from the rise of a new moon in September through the New Year.
