Today - Pastor Lawrence Rawls has seen the impact of inequality in the criminal justice system. He worked as the human resources director at Richland Correctional Institution for more than 20 years before leaving the local state prison earlier this year. Rawls has also volunteered with the Richland County Task Force on Racism and is now a member of the steering committee working on criminal justice issues.
Also, the Knox County Commissioners have appointed William “Scott” Boone as interim director of the Knox County Department of Job & Family Services. Boone has been with the agency for five years, first as the Children Services Administrator before being promoted to Assistant Director in June of 2018.
