In this next sermon in the series 'Know with Certainty' Zane Elliott shows us how Luke answers an important question: Who is qualified to enter the Kingdom God? Who is qualified to be a disciple? To help us answer that question we are going to focus in detail on two disciples.
The first is Simon Peter who has the best day’s fishing ever witnessed. vv.1-16
The second is a man with the terrible skin disease of leprosy, vv.12-15
And we’ll touch on two others, very briefly 
 a man who has been paralysed, who’s friends have amazing faith vv.17-26 and Levi, a tax collector vv.27-39, as we think about what qualifies someone to be a follower of Jesus.

In this next sermon in the series 'Know with Certainty' we think about the Identity of the Messiah, Jesus.  Identity  has become fundamental to how Western people define themselves, it's almost sacred, something that is self defined, and should never be transgressed. 

Today, in Luke 3 and 4 we are going to consider what is revealed to us of Jesus’ Identity, as he begins his earthly ministry.

i) he is unstoppable vv.1-6, ii) he is bringing division vv.7-20. Before we focus on the Messiah’s identity: 
iii) reaffirmed in genealogy vv.23-38 and finally iv) put to the test 4:1-13. 

In this next sermon in the series 'Know with Certainty'  Luke takes us to the birth of a child  i) In Bethlehem, during a census. It looks like the decision of the Roman Emperor, but it's not what you'd expect.
He also takes us  ii) to the temple in Jerusalem for the presentation of a first born son. This was a totally normal act of worship in any devout Jewish family, but the response of two people in the temple, and who they are is not what you’d expect.

Today Zane Elliott walks us through this passage with the theme 'Not what you'd expect' showing how God turns the world upside down with the birth, and presentation of Jesus the Messiah.

We come to the end of our journey with Abraham.

As we come to Abraham’s final days we are going to see that he was singularly committed to the purpose of God, in a way that comes with a great cost.
Like Abraham, believers, are called to pursue God’s purpose at great cost. He hadn’t seen the promises of God to him fulfilled, only in part, but he trusted God was as good as His word and would keep his covenant with him.
