Rick Brown

Are you feeling spiritually stagnant? Pastor Rick unpacks Luke 13, in which Jesus imparts a powerful metaphor about potential and growth through a fig tree that isn't producing fruit. The vineyard owner wants to cut it down, but the gardener asks for one more chance—a perfect picture of God's patient, transformative love.

Jesus demonstrates that spiritual growth requires intentional care and a willingness to change. Just as the gardener doesn't abandon the struggling tree, God provides opportunities for us to develop and bear meaningful fruit, even when we feel unproductive or stuck. The message is clear: with divine nurturing, we can always grow something greater. Jesus challenged religious restrictions by healing on the Sabbath, but in actuality, he brought true rest to the woman who had lived hunched over for eighteen years. Whether we feel unproductive like the fig tree or weighed down like the bent woman, God's transformative power offers hope, healing, and the potential to grow something far greater than we imagine.

Ever wonder why following Jesus sometimes creates conflict instead of peace? In Luke 12:51-13:9, Jesus delivers a surprising reality check: "Do you suppose that I came to give peace on the earth? I tell you, not at all, but rather division."

The message here isn't about seeking division but rather acknowledging what happens when people make radical commitments to truth in a world that often rejects it. Jesus calls us to be peacemakers whenever possible, but never at the expense of righteousness.

What division might your faith be causing in your life right now? And more importantly - is it because you're standing firmly for Christ, or just being difficult? Something worth thinking about!

With all the chaos in the world today, how do we know if Jesus is actually coming back? And if He is, how should we be living right now?" Jesus describes His return using different images like He's flipping through a photo album, showing us different snapshots of the same reality—as the Bridegroom coming for His bride, the Thief arriving when least expected, the Riddler speaking in parables, the Weatherman asking us to read the signs of the times, the Vindicator bringing justice.

The question isn't if Jesus is returning—it's when, and these images all point to one crucial response: be ready, keep your lamps burning, stay alert, and live like someone who expects their Master to walk through the door at any moment. What would change in your life today if you truly believed Jesus could return before tomorrow?

Ever wondered why we stress so much about having more stuff? It's a question as old as time but still hits home today.

Pastor Rick explores this timeless struggle in "Treasure Map of the Heart," the 38th installment of the Fresh Love series. Jesus's message cuts straight to the heart: Life does not consist in an abundance of possessions. He tells us not to worry about our clothes, our anxious thoughts, our priorities, our inheritance, our investments, or our interests.

Instead, Jesus points to a better treasure map: "Seek first His kingdom." When we realign our hearts to value what God values, everything else falls into place. The real treasure isn't what we can store in barns or banks—it's what we invest in God's kingdom that lasts forever.

What does it really mean to be a man in today's world?

Join Pastor Rick Brown alongside a special guest: big brother Scotty Brown; as they dive into the heart of authentic manhood. Exploring how to become men of purpose and character, they draw from biblical wisdom and the powerful testimony of their own journey from a wild upbringing to walking with God.

Whether you're a young man finding your way, a father raising sons, or someone seeking to understand God's design for masculinity, this teaching will challenge and inspire you to embrace the calling of biblical manhood. In a culture that often discourages and shames masculinity, Rick and Scotty unpack what it means to be a strong leader and warrior tempered with love, self-control, and a godly perspective.

Ever wondered why some people seem to have a picture-perfect outward life but struggle with genuine authenticity?
In this intriguing passage from Luke, Jesus gets invited to dinner by a Pharisee, and things get wonderfully uncomfortable - just the way Jesus likes to challenge our spiritual comfort zones. Jesus sees right through the polished exterior and calls out the Pharisees' fundamental problem - they're obsessed with looking good on the outside but completely miss the point of true spiritual restoration.

Jesus essentially tells them, "You're like beautiful cups that are sparkling clean on the outside but filthy on the inside." It's time to stop pretending and start transforming. Let Christ's power work genuinely in your heart, not just polish your external image. Be real, be humble, and let God's love reshape you from the inside out. True spiritual growth requires brutal honesty with yourself, God, and others. It means caring more about God's perspective and the state of your heart than your social standing.

In a world of filters and fake personas, Jesus invites us to radical authenticity. Your character matters more than your reputation. Are you ready to clean not just the outside of the cup, but the inside too?

Have you ever felt burdened and drained, like you were being constantly attacked from all sides?

In part 35 of the Fresh Love series, Pastor Rick explores Luke 11:23-36 with a powerful message about spiritual warfare and divine connections. As believers, we may not be possessed, but we can face spiritual attacks. The core truth is simple: your relationship with the Lord must come first, above all other relationships.

This sermon challenges believers to examine their spiritual priorities, unpacking how true faith means filling yourself with Jesus and standing boldly before God. It's a call to understand that the resurrection is the foundation of our faith, and our heart's current posture matters more than past rejections of truth.

Pastor Rick invites you to a deep exploration of spiritual strength, priority, and authentic relationship with God.

Is an empty house really better than a messy one?

In Luke 11:14-32, Jesus reveals a profound truth about spiritual transformation through several surprising encounters. When Jesus casts out a demon, some criticize and demand more signs - missing the powerful change right in front of them. He then shares a striking image of someone who cleans house but leaves it empty only to end up worse than before, Through these accounts, Jesus shows that true transformation isn't just about getting rid of bad habits or cleaning up our lives - it's about being touched by God and filled with His presence and power.

Join Pastor Rick this Sunday as he continues to unpack how this fresh love transforms our understanding of change. Discover why surface-level cleanup isn't enough and how genuine, lasting transformation happens when we allow God's presence to fill every room of our lives
