This week I sat down with oil and gas entrepreneur and seasoned real estate investor Max Gagliardi to talk about the ins and outs of investing in short term rentals in Qualified Opportunity Zones (QOZs).

This week I sat down with Marshall Sykes who recently retired after spending 30 years in large scale oilfield project management. Marshall is taking this opportunity to focus full-time on growing his already substantial multifamily real estate holdings. We discuss the challenges and benefits of transitioning to full-time real estate investor, and the big plans he has in the near future!

We had a great chat about his experience transitioning underwriting skills sharpened in the O&G industry to underwriting multifamily assets and how patience and persistence helped him and his partners take down their first deal in the scorching hot Austin, TX market.

Brent began investing in real estate as a way to support his family while having more time to spend with them.

Dr. Roderick Capelo is a pediatric orthopedic surgeon and seasoned multifamily investor. Although being a physician seems like a stable profession on the surface, Dr. Capelo gets candid about the challenges physicians face and how devastating the pandemic shut downs could have been to his career and practice had he not had critical income from his investments in real estate.
