A princess, known for her beauty and arrogance, mocks her suitors. Her father forces her to marry a beggar musician. The beggar takes her to a poor cottage, where she must do all the work. She works as a kitchen maid and is discovered by King Thrushbeard. Thrushbeard reveals that he was the beggar, musician, and the man who broke her pottery, and that it was all a lesson. They then celebrate their real wedding.

Simpleton, thought dumb by his family, shows kindness to a gnome. In return, the gnome rewards him with a golden goose. People who try to steal its feathers get stuck to the goose. Seeing this long parade of people makes a sad princess laugh, and her father promises the princess in marriage to whoever made her laugh. He creates impossible challenges. The gnome helps Simpleton and in the end Simpleton marries the princess, and they live a happy life.

Hilda, a lonely girl who lives by the coast and loves mermaids, encounters a mermaid who has been blown ashore by a storm. Hilda welcomes the mermaid into her cottage, and the mermaid describes her life in Neptune's underwater kingdom. As they sleep, the mermaid disappears. Hilda remembers her encounter, finding seaweed on the floor and looking for the mermaid whenever she is on her boat.

Lucie, a young girl, loses her pocket-handkerchiefs. While searching for them on a hill, she discovers a door leading to a kitchen inside the hill. There, she meets Mrs. Tiggy-winkle, a short, stout washerwoman with prickles. Mrs. Tiggy-winkle shows Lucie various clean clothes belonging to different animals and birds, eventually returning Lucie's handkerchiefs. As they deliver the clothes, the animals are grateful. Lucie discovers that Mrs. Tiggy-winkle is a hedgehog who quickly runs back home.

A little prince wants to get his sick mother a jar of rosemary for Christmas, as it reminds her of her childhood. He discovers an old woman in town has one, but she refuses to sell it. He offers his most prized possession, a magical golden ball, in exchange. The old woman accepts. The Queen is delighted, valuing the rosemary above all her other luxurious gifts and cherishing her son's selfless love.

Fourteen children gather on a winter night, each holding a red bell containing a letter that spells "Merry Christmas." Each child explains what their letter represents in the context of Christmas traditions, such as Santa Claus, stockings, reindeer, gifts, carols, and the joy of the season. They end with a group cheer.

Uncle Wiggily, while shopping with Grandpa Goosey Gander, overhears children lamenting that Santa can't visit due to their sooty chimneys. Inspired, he enlists the help of crows, who aren't hindered by the soot, to deliver presents to those homes. Gathering gifts from his animal friends, Uncle Wiggily dispatches the crows on Christmas Eve. The boys and girls, as well as the animal children, wake up to a happy Christmas surprise, demonstrating Uncle Wiggily's kindness and resourcefulness.

Uncle Wiggily flies his airship and discovers an animal school. He helps with a spelling examination. When a disruptive Flippity-flop arrives, Uncle Wiggily cleverly uses the word "cheese" to scare it away, since Flippity-flops fear it and cannot spell it. The examination resumes, all pupils pass, and Uncle Wiggily returns home with pickled bananas for Nurse Jane.

Mrs. Tabitha Twitchit meticulously dresses her three kittens, Mittens, Moppet, and the mischievous Tom Kitten, for a tea party. However, as soon as they are outside, the kittens become disheveled and lose their clothes. The Puddle-Ducks find and wear the garments. When Tabitha discovers her kittens' state, she scolds them and sends them upstairs, falsely telling her guests they have the measles. The story ends with a promise of more tales about Tom Kitten's escapades, while the Puddle-Ducks continue searching for the lost clothes.

Christopher Robin mentions seeing a Heffalump, sparking Pooh's desire to catch one. Pooh and Piglet devise a trap with a jar of honey as bait, but Pooh eats most of the honey before placing it in the pit. That night, unable to sleep, Pooh returns to the trap and gets his head stuck in the jar. Piglet, going to check the trap, sees Pooh with the jar on his head and mistakes him for a Heffalump, running to Christopher Robin in a panic. Christopher Robin recognizes Pooh, and everyone realizes the folly of their fears.
