This week we had the pleasure of talking to virtual second grade teacher Melisa Hayes. We met Melisa through Barbara Gruener, a former guest and now friend. This inspired us to take a deeper look at the power of these kinds of connections- the ones that aren't in our lives everyday- and in this case, people we've never met in person. The research is really interesting- "weak ties" have the power to uplift and inspire us in so many different ways. We are grateful for our chat with @hayes_melisa!
In this episode, we discuss an E tool in our RISE system- an environment tool. How is your environment serving you? Our environment affects the way we function in this world. Take inventory of your surroundings and be mindful of colors, sounds, smells and clutter. We reference Marie Kondo and her book, The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying up, check out her website konmari.com for inspiration. We also highlight the wonderful Justin Sunseri's work of the Stuck Not Broken Podcast to illustrate real-life environmental anchors. Check out his website for more information- Justinlmft.com.
