  • May 4, 2019: "Blueprints," By Cycle of Hands

This is a simple Blueprint I made of how moments exist independently yet connected to other moments that then find the proper place on the linear timeline to connect to. Left is birth, on the right is death. The four sided stars represent divine connections and the keys represent the unlocking of goals that were made for ones life.

    Lyrics:

    Somehow I am still here

Through all the days and the months and all the years

Through the tears and the time spent living in fear

Not knowing if I was going close to anywhere near

The destination I envisioned in my imagination

As a teen sitting in the basement

    Feeling safe getting wasted

uncertainty of what my place is

In space and time, existence I was graced with

Damn it went so slow but now it seems so swift

How many moments went by that I completely missed?

I’m pissed - thinking of how many things I forget

All the perfect diamonds there were dug up from the shit

I’ll admit - I’ve never been someone of  a sharpened wit

My thoughts are random and most often they're mixed

I’m amazed at how many people can seem like they fit

My shape doesn’t place  without a piece getting chipped

This one is for me the who is still in the past

I can feel you looking at me with so much doubt

Just want to make sure that you know we are here

It’s not what you expected but it doesn’t need correction

I’m but still a connection and I give you my protection

I am looking at the pictures I drew from the past

They’re looking more like blueprints now

It’s weird how that works out

I must have known something then

Cause I feel I’m living in the shapes from the pen

That I drew in long days of way back when

But then again more than anything it makes sense

The past is as real as the present tense

And I have always been the author of  how good it can get

    Regret is an unfortunate thing

Dirt that you will never be able to wash completely clean

Maybe it’s a matter of changing how you think

Because you don’t know what blessings required you to sink

Perhaps hitting rock bottom is what one truly needs

To understand the soil and the look of the weeds

To see the spots that are perfect for planting seeds

That will sprout and grow to be the tallest trees

This one is for me the who is still in the past

I can feel you looking at me with so much doubt

Just want to make sure that you know we are here

It’s not what you expected but it doesn’t need correction

I’m but still a connection and I give you my protection

You’re not the wind, you know. You’re not the a air. You’re not a gust, directional. You’ve much more care than that. You’re not the sea, you know. You’re not the waves. You’re not the tide, all-powerful.You’re much more brave than that. You’re not the ship, you know. You’re not the charts. You’re not the course, dependant. You’ve much more heart than that. The breeze hits the sails,Sends the boat oversea. And you’re at the helm, baby. You’re at the helm. When the gusts turn to gailsAnd white go those wave-tips,Don’t overwhelm, baby. You’re at the helm. When the squalls have subsidedAnd the ocean is glass again,Rule over your realm, baby. You’re at the helm. You’re in control, you know. You are the mind. You’re not the harsh unpredictable. You’re much more kind than that.
