  • 10 Phrases That Calms An Angry Child

Two common emotions that I witness with my children are anger and anxiety. And summer is here, everybody's together, no school. My 12-year-old and five-year-old will be together in the same space, just on top of each other, while I'm not home. And it has been a challenging transition from school to no school.

In this episode, I want to share some of the things that you can say to bring the co-regulation during heated moments with a child who is experiencing anger. And next week, we will be talking about the phrases you can say to an anxious child.

  • Teaching Our Children The Value Of Failure

Failure is devastating. There is nothing worse than watching our most significant project fail. You may have spent weeks and even months working on a project that fails. Or you have a great idea but get shut down. And I think failure is an experience we need to share with our kids.

In this episode, I would like to share why failure doesn't mean that you failed or you didn't accomplish what you wanted. Failure means you tried something. You tried something and you weren't afraid. I wanted to share this learning with my kids, about how failure is essential to success and how we can overcome our fear of it.

  • How Pre-planning Ended Our Morning Struggles

The ability to choose and change is a gift, especially since so many of our habits and identities that we're walking around with, we're just not consciously chosen by us. What do I mean by that?

As parents, we consciously want to show our children to be positive. We want to show them that it’s a choice and that’s what we want to model. But sometimes, life just happens. Instances such as kids are struggling to get up in the morning, they fuss about the clothes they’ll wear or they keep complaining about breakfast. As much as you want to be that parent who smiles and stays happy, you can still feel the pressure and stress and it takes away your joy.

But what if I say that it doesn't have to be this way? What if I say that there is an end to the struggle? What if I say that I have a solution for you?

In this episode, I want to share with you how I dealt with these struggles through pre-planning.

  • How Do We Protect Our Children?

Last week’s news was sad and shocking to everyone, especially parents and children. It was devastating and tragic and has brought fear to many.

In this episode, I just want to share my perspective, my conversation with my son, and how confidence plays a huge role in how we raise our kids and how it affects them. As parents, it is our role to guide them, listen to them, and provide a safe space for them. How we raise them determines who they become in the future.

  • What Should You Do When You Feel Triggered?

Do you ever feel triggered by your kids' behaviors or by something someone said to you? I know I certainly do. And what can we do when we feel triggered? Wouldn't it be wonderful if someone could just give us a magic pill that solved what to do when we feel triggered?

There's no magic pill, but fortunately, there are some steps that we can take to prepare for the inevitable triggers of panic. There are ways to prevent triggers and practice we can do to face these challenges instead of running away from these challenges.

In this episode, I would like to share with you what you can do when you feel triggered. How to be proactive and practices you can do to avoid triggers for you and your child.

  • Teaching Our Kids About Mindset

I believe our mindset shapes whether we believe we can learn, change and grow or not. I’m saying this because I want to teach my children about mindset even as young as they are. Growing up, kids go through a lot of changes not only physically but most especially mentally and emotionally. And I believe mindset is key to addressing every issue they can encounter growing up.

In this episode, I would like to share with you how we can teach our kids about mindset. There are two kinds of mindsets, a fixed mindset, and a growth mindset. I would like to share my views because it's not only important to teach our kids this whole concept of mindset, but it's so  important for us parents to model the right behavior for our kids. Let’s dive into knowing their differences and how we can help our children learn and improve their mindsets.

  • Hey Mom, You Are Good Enough

Last weekend, we celebrated Mother’s Day. And all over social media, moms from different parts of the world posted about their celebrations, reflections, joy, and even grief for the moms who lost a child.

In this episode, I would like to discuss how being enough is all we need as a person, a parent, and a mother. We all are good enough, we just need to tap into it.
