What difference does it make that Jesus rose from the dead? For many of us, the resurrection of Jesus means little more than the guarantee of going to heaven after we die. We can miss how foundational the resurrection is to Christian life. This Sunday, we begin RISEN, a new series that will take us through the book of 1 Corinthians, exploring why the resurrection matters and how it can powerfully shape the way we live right now.
We encourage you to take some time this week and read 1 Corinthians. Notice Paul's references to resurrection, the second coming of Jesus, the references to the future judgment of Christ, etc. Wherever Paul points to the future, make a note of it! This will help us as we study together in the coming weeks.
