We met Harûn Apoyî in spring in Rojava, North-East Syria to talk about the Strategy of Revolutionary People's War, the Revolution in Rojava and a perspective for defending societies in face of a comprehensive war waged on them by the states all around the globe.

Harûn Apoyî, born in Kobanê, has been participating in the Rojava Revolution from day one and teaches the concept of Revolutionary People's war in Academies in all of Rojava and North-East Syria.

Abdullah Öcalan has always used the international day of struggle of the working class as an opportunity to analyse the situation of the global socialist movement & to derive perspectives for the struggle for self-determination & socialism in Kurdistan & the Middle East.

After his abduction & imprisonment on the 15th of February, 1999, his opportunities to make himself known to the outside world were limited to short messages that only managed to get past the prison walls via his lawyers.

Nevertheless, he never missed an opportunity to address his movement and the public with messages of greetings on the occasion of the working women's day of struggle on the 8th of March, the Kurdish New Year, Newroz, on the 21st of March or the 1st of May. This text is a message from Abdullah Öcalan on the occasion of the 1st of May demonstration in Amed (Diyarbakir) in 2014.

This is Abdullah Öcalan's last May the 1st message before he was subjected to a stricter detention regime and total isolation in April 2015.

Abdullah Öcalan hat den internationalen Kampftag der Arbeiterklasse immer als Gelegenheit genutzt, um die Situation der globalen sozialistischen Bewegung zu analysieren und Perspektiven für den Kampf für Selbstbestimmung und Sozialismus in Kurdistan und im Nahen Osten abzuleiten.

Nach seiner Entführung und Inhaftierung am 15. Februar 1999 beschränkten sich seine Möglichkeiten, sich der Außenwelt mitzuteilen, auf kurze Botschaften, die nur über seine Anwälte durch die Gefängnismauern gelangten.

Dennoch ließ er keine Gelegenheit aus, sich mit Grußbotschaften anlässlich des Kampftages der arbeitenden Frauen am 8. März, des kurdischen Neujahrs, Newroz, am 21. März oder am 1. Mai an seine Bewegung und die Öffentlichkeit zu wenden. Dieser Text ist eine Botschaft von Abdullah Öcalan anlässlich der 1. Mai-Demonstration in Amed (Diyarbakir) im Jahr 2014.

Dies ist die letzte 1. Mai-Botschaft von Abdullah Öcalan, bevor er im April 2015 einem verschärften Haftregime und totaler Isolation unterworfen wurde.
