In this Temple Library entry, I’m sharing my experience of growing up in Catholic Ireland and the deeper layers behind what was seen as “normal” at the time.

This isn’t just about religion it’s about ritual, structure, and the ways identity is shaped from a young age through repetition, symbolism, and expectation.

I speak on baptism, communion, and confirmation, and how these rites of passage form part of a wider system of indoctrination from symbolic imprints to emotional reinforcement and material reward.

If you grew up with this, you may recognise parts of your own story. And if you didn’t, this offers a deeper insight into the cultural and spiritual conditioning that shaped so many of us.
