We were just out at the 2023 RIMBY Festival at Hardywood Brewery having such a great time. RIMBY stands for Right In My Back Yard - a  A FREE OUTDOOR festival highlighting all of the fun and unique things going on in our backyard, RVA.  ⁠This is a fundraising event to help support the amazing Beyond Boundaries organization and to bring local nonprofits together to support one another as a community. Its also a celebration of RVA food, drinks and music.

June is Alzheimer's and Brain Awareness Month (ABAM), and all month long, the Alzheimer's Association is holding special events to share facts about Alzheimer's disease and other dementias. What a perfect time to talk to Elizabeth McMasters about how her law firm helps in supporting families with loved ones who are suffering.

Though dementia mostly affects older adults, it is not a part of normal aging. Of those at least 65 years of age, there were an estimated 5.0 million adults with dementia in 2014 and there is projected to be nearly 14 million by 2060. Alzheimer's disease is the most common type of dementia.

We have a big issue with mold in Virginia with the extreme humidity combined with rainy days - especially in the spring. And that leads to a much higher level of mold than in dryer states. Mold grows wherever moisture or humidity is present. Because this is such a huge issue in the state, we sit down to discuss how to recognize if you have an issue in your home, how to get ride of mold safely, when to call in an expert and what the health issues are related to exposure to mold.
