Richmond ToolBank's Executive Director Toby Vernon is back at River City Podcast to share what their motto- "Together, we do more good" really means. They lend over $1 million dollars in tools and equipment to community based organizations! Tools are borrowed by hundreds of organizations that lead to over 1,000 projects each year. Contributing to Richmond ToolBank really means contributing to dozens of other organizations that are serving our area.
As we all consider how to give back this fundraising season, Toby explains that every dollar an individual or a company donates translates into $33 dollars being donated to the nonprofit and voluntary sector here in Richmond.

The concept of a “blended family" has become more and more common over the past several decades. According to the Census Bureau and the Pew Research Center, 16% of children are a part of blended families. This means they live in a household with a stepparent, step-sibling, or half-sibling.
After a divorce takes place, families will naturally be adjusting to the changes in their family dynamic. Part of this period should include becoming familiar with the new legal realities. Issues like child support, redoing estate plans, custody, and alimony can get more complicated and understanding the law and what your options are is advised. Despite how common these types of families are, the legal struggles they face have not become any less complicated over the years.
Elizabeth McMaster provides an overview in this informative interview that is a listening must for families that are entering or in a blended family.

Guardianship, also, referred to as conservatorship, is a legal process, utilized when a person can no longer make or communicate safe or sound decisions about his/her person and/or property or has become susceptible to fraud or undue influence. Because establishing a guardianship may remove considerable rights from an individual, it should only be considered after alternatives to guardianship have proven ineffective or are unavailable. Elizabeth McMaster provides an overview in this informative interview that is a listening must for families that need to consider having a provision in place for a loved one.

Verdure Ventures (sounds like vur . jr) was created from a combination of 2 passions: beautiful spaces and lush, healthy plants. Recognizing that the two are equally important in the overall aesthetic of a space, they work closely with designers, stagers, clients, and event planners to complement and enhance any style. Their pristine plants (and pots) are carefully chosen to elevate but not overtake the space, and to add another level of cohesion in the complete design element.

We were thrilled to speak with Kristin Peck about how The Areola Restoration Center is changing lives one at a time. What makes The Areola Restoration Center so unique? It isn't any one factor that gives a technique or technician the title of being better than another. Rather, it's a collection of specialized techniques, training and team members that produce a superior result. The ARC "Areola Restoration Center" is HIPPA compliant and extremely sensitive to every individual's story. Procedures are conducted in a beautiful board-certified facility, within a private suite designed for the comfort of our clients. It all comes down to skill, ability, and a passion to make a difference. For every client they ask themselves, Is the final product worthy of being on our client's bodies for years? Unequivocally they can say yes and we agree! The Areola Restoration Center is powered by the initial vision of its sister company Derma-hue LLC. We love them too! Listen to learn more for you or a loved one.
