As revival began to wane from the first Great Awakening, God stirred the heart of James McGready to began to gather a few congregations together for a special services of communion, worship, and prayer. These gatherings sparked the Red River revival which ultimately led to the week long great outpouring in 1801 at Cane Ridge Kentucky. This began America's Frontier Revival and birthed "camp meetings" in our nation. This was continuing in the first wave of the end times revivals which God used to restore the gospel in power.
