When Elijah was about to be borne into Heaven, Elisha was persistent in his desire to accompany him.His reward was seeing God's Chariot with Elijah in it. If we step out & go with Jesus on His adventure,who knows what great reward we might attain?

Before we can move onward with Christ, we must let go of the things in our past that may hold us back from that full relationship with Him.

When Elisha told Jehoash to strike the ground with his arrows, Jehoash did so half-heartedly.As a result, he did not get the full blessing he was seeking. To get God's full benefit,we need to put forth a full effort. Shoot to the last arrow!

In today's Scripture passage, Jesus tells us that the cost of discipleship is high,Most of us are not able to make the sacrifices needed to truly be His followers. 

On his deathbed, David advises Solomon to be faithful and obedient to God that he might prosper as King.We, too, should do this to be prosperous, though that prosperity may differ from the way the world sees it.

After the wars, David finally realizes that he only had the illusion of control.Ultimately, God is always in charge. We need to realize this as well as we submitto Him and suppress our desire for control.

After being confronted by Nathan, David confesses his sin. Although God does not remove his favor,there will still be consequences to his actions. We must remember that, when we sin and confess toGod what we have done, it actually brings us closer to Him.

David shows his flaws in this familiar story of adultery and murder.

David, thinking to build God's House like the one he uses, mistakenly tries to make God far. far smaller than He truly is.

David's joy at the return of the Ark of the Covenant was so great that he leapt & danced in the street.Some thought this undignified for a king, but David reminded his people that it isn't the style ofworship that matters, it's the object. David considered himself so inferior to God that anything he did inworship would be undignified in God's view.
