The praying church must collectively come together to pray and go to the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ for specific things. A praying church is like a body that is functioning properly. People are not going in different directions. A praying church is functioning as a group of baptized believers who have voluntarily joined themselves together to do the work that God has given that local congregation to do.

As the Temple replaced the Tabernacle, David restructured the duties of the Levites to focus on serving within the house of God. Thas transition demonstrates the importance of everyone playing their part in God's service, just as church members today are called to help the pastor in the work of the ministry. God often uses the ministry of sickness to bring us to Himself.  Affliction, in our lives or in the lives of those we love, causes us to realize our need of Him. As we deal with the sickness, Christ bears our sorrow and provides the grace that we need. His ministry to us enables us to love Him more and to serve Him in a greater way.

2 Corinthians 13:1-10

Paul urges the Corinthians to focus on self-examniaton rather than criticizing his ministry, warning that he will confront ongoing sin when he visits again.
