This is message 11 in the 2 Corinthians series

2 Corinthians 7:1-16

Paul reflects on the comfort he received during tribulation after hearing from Titus about the Corinthian church’s positive response to his earlier letter. Paul had been deeply concerned about how his rebuke would be received, but their godly sorrow led to genuine repentance. He contrasts true repentance, which leads to a change in behavior, with mere remorse, which does not. Paul also highlights the importance of continuing the process of spiritual growth, striving towards holiness. Titus was the right messenger to deliver this correction, and through this difficult process, the Corinthians affirmed their love for Paul, and Paul rejoiced in their restoration.

Before Ezra and the remnant returned to Jerusalem, they faced a choice: to depend on the king's army or to depend on God to protect them. They chose to depend upon the Lord, and God did not fail them. He provided all their need. He was glorified in their weakness. He empowered their testimony, and He gave them courage.

This is message 15 in the Labor in the Church series

Acts 14:21-28

Paul emphasizes the core responsibilities of missionaries as they fulfill their mission. First, they preach the gospel, sharing the message of Christ with the people. Then, they disciple new believers, helping them develop obedience to Christ. Missionaries also confirm the faith of these disciples, ensuring their continued growth and accountability. They establish church leadership by ordaining elders, and finally, they entrust the new church to God's care, stepping back to allow God's work to continue. In essence, missionaries are itinerant church planters, dedicated too stablishing and nurturing new churches.

We have not placed the importance upon prayer that God places in His Word. We live in this great day of knowledge and intellect, and we think we can scheme our way out of anything; but God will make sure we have times when we cannot make it without Him.

This is message 14 in the Labor in the Church series

1 Timothy 3:16- 4:6

Paul instructs Timothy to be a faithful minister by reminding the church of essential truths of the faith. Timothy is to focus on teaching sound doctrine, including the fundamental truth that Jesus is God manifested in the flesh, and the gospel is for all people. Paul warns of the rise of false teacher who, having abandoned the truth, decieve others with lies and manmade traditions. A good minister must counter these errors by upholding and teaching the Word of God, emphasizing the importance of trusting in Scripture over human traditions and opinions.
