Resurrection! | Becoming CHRIST (Week 1)
What does it truly mean to live a resurrected life?
In this powerful Easter message, we kick off our new 8-week series, Becoming CHRIST, by exploring the life-changing reality of resurrection—not just something Jesus experienced, but something we are invited into. Through Galatians 2:20 and Romans 6, we discover that following Jesus means dying to our old life and being raised into something completely new.
Because of Jesus, resurrection isn’t just an event… it’s a lifestyle.
This is the starting point of becoming more like Jesus—understanding that your old life is gone, and your new life is hidden in Him.
Main Scriptures:
Galatians 2:20
Romans 6:5–7, 10–11, 22–23
Romans 1:4
Join us as we begin this journey from Easter to Pentecost, learning eight practical ways to become more like Christ.

Ready For Resurrection? | Galatians 2:20 | Palm Sunday
Are you truly ready for resurrection?
On this Palm Sunday, we look beyond the celebration of Jesus’ triumphal entry and ask a deeper question: What needs to die in us so new life can begin?
In this powerful message centered on Galatians 2:20, we’re reminded that following Jesus isn’t just about admiration—it’s about surrender. The life we now live comes through faith in Christ, who loved us and gave Himself for us.
This sermon challenges us to examine the “old self” we keep holding onto and invites us into the freedom, purpose, and new identity found in Christ. Resurrection isn’t just something we celebrate—it’s something we step into.
Scripture: Galatians 2:20

Why do we keep going back to the same things that never truly satisfy?
In this message from our series The Gospel of John, we look at the powerful encounter between Jesus and the Samaritan woman at the well. In John 4, Jesus offers something radically different—living water that truly satisfies the deepest thirst of our souls.
So often, we return to “wells” in our lives—habits, relationships, achievements, or distractions—hoping they’ll fill us. But they always leave us empty. This sermon challenges us to recognize those patterns, leave those wells behind, and turn to Jesus—the only source of lasting fulfillment.
If you’ve ever felt stuck in a cycle you can’t break, this message is for you.
📖 Scripture:
John 4:7–15, 25–26, 28–29
🙏 Key Takeaway:
Stop going back to what drains you. Start coming to the One who fills you.

Preparing for Life After Death | The Gospel of John | John 3:1-8
Opening Video: https://youtu.be/f2F_5KNdyig?si=mprqNudjaUSXWlTd
In this message from our Gospel of John series, Pastor Stacey explores what it truly means to prepare for life after death through the story of Nicodemus.
In John 3:1–8, Jesus tells Nicodemus that no one can see the Kingdom of God unless they are born again. At first, Nicodemus struggles to understand. But as we follow his journey through Scripture—from his questions in John 3, to his defense of Jesus in John 7:48–51, and finally to his courageous act in John 19:38–42—we see the slow and powerful progression of a heart moving toward faith.
This sermon reminds us that being born again is not always a single moment of clarity. For many, it is a process of seeking, questioning, understanding, and ultimately trusting Christ.
Drawing also from Titus 3:5, we see that salvation is not something we earn, but something God accomplishes through His mercy and the renewing work of the Holy Spirit.
If you’ve ever wrestled with faith, asked hard questions, or wondered what it really means to be born again, this message is for you.
📖 Main Scripture: John 3:1–8
📖 Additional Scriptures: John 7:48–51, John 19:38–42, Titus 3:5

Grace Upon Grace | The Gospel of John | John 1:12–18
In John 1:12–18 we see one of the most beautiful truths of the gospel: in Jesus we receive grace upon grace. Through Christ, we are not only forgiven—we are welcomed into God’s family and invited to live in the fullness of His grace.
In this message, we explore how Jesus perfectly embodies both grace and truth, and what it means for Christians to follow His example. As followers of Christ, we are called to hold firmly to truth while extending the same grace we have received to those who are still far from God.
Grace changes us—but it also compels us to become people who share that grace with others.

You Ain't Seen NOTHING Yet | The Gospel of John | John 2:10-11
Have you ever felt like what you have to offer isn’t enough? In this sermon, we dive into John 1:50–51 and John 2:10–11 and discover a powerful truth from the Gospel of John: when we bring Jesus what we have—even if it’s just jars of water—He can turn it into something miraculous.
At the wedding in Cana, the miracle wasn’t just about water becoming wine. It was about obedience. It was about trust. It was about offering what was available and watching Jesus do what only He can do.
Jesus told Nathanael, “You will see greater things than these.” That promise still stands. Prayer is the primary way we step out in faith, place our “jars” before Him, and believe Him for greater things.
If you’re waiting on a breakthrough, longing to see God move, or wondering if your small act of faith matters—this message is for you.

Unqualified and Called
📖 Main Text: Judges 6
Have you ever felt unqualified for what God is asking you to do?
In this sermon, we look at Judges 6 and the story of Gideon — a man hiding in fear, full of doubt, and painfully aware of his limitations. Yet God calls him a “mighty warrior” before he ever wins a battle.
This message reminds us that:
- God sees who we are becoming, not just who we’ve been.
- Fear and calling can coexist.
- Obedience often starts with small, faithful steps.
- God’s strength is made perfect in our weakness.
If you’ve ever felt inadequate, overlooked, or unsure whether God could really use you, this sermon is for you. The same God who called Gideon still calls ordinary people today.
👉 Be encouraged: You don’t have to feel qualified to be called.

Light Up Your Darkness | The Gospel of John | John 1:4–5
“In Him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” — John 1:4–5
Darkness doesn’t disappear by accident — it is driven out by light.
In this message from our series The Gospel of John, we explore the powerful truth found in John 1:4–5: Jesus is the Light of Life. His light doesn’t avoid darkness… it confronts it, exposes it, and overcomes it.
One of the most challenging parts of following Christ is becoming aware of the darkness within our own hearts — the hidden struggles, the unaddressed sin, the fear, the pride, the wounds we try to manage on our own. But the good news of the Gospel is this: Jesus doesn’t shame us in our darkness — He shines into it.

Embrace God’s Call On Your Life | Habakkuk 1:5
“Look at the nations and watch— and be utterly amazed. For I am going to do something in your days that you would not believe, even if you were told.” — Habakkuk 1:5 (NIV)
In Part 2 of our vision series looking ahead to what God has for Riverview Christian in 2026, we’re reminded that God is always at work—often in ways bigger than we can imagine. The question isn’t if God is calling… it’s whether we will embrace it.
Every Christian is called. Every believer is gifted. And like Moses in Exodus 3, we often respond with, “Who am I?” But God’s answer is the same today as it was then: “I will be with you.” Our calling isn’t built on our confidence—it’s built on His presence.
As we look forward together, this sermon challenges each of us to move from hesitation to faith—and to trust that the Great “I AM” still sends, equips, and walks with His people.
If this message encouraged you, share it with someone who needs the reminder that God has called them too.
