R.L. Shawver is Father to a son named Sam. In the first 18 months of Sam's life he had to undergo 6 open heart surgeries. R.L. tells us what it was like seeing his newborn son having such traumatic procedures done and how he and his wife at the time found joy even in some of the darkest moments. 

R.L. is the Author of "For This Child I Have Prayed". He wrote this book in order to share his story of taming tribulation and bring to light what other people can do to find joy in some of life's worst circumstances.
