National has been ramping up its attacks on the left, repeatedly claiming Chloe Swarbrick will be finance minister if the coalition loses power. National's campaign manager, Simeon Brown, declined Morning Report's request for an interview. Chloe Swarbrick spoke to John Campbell.

Germany's Interior Minister is threatening tougher penalties, after stores were looted during Gen-Z led demonstrations over the weekend. Tens of thousands of people took to the streets of Germany's biggest cities, to protest the rising cost of living. It comes as more than 700 arrests were made in France, as clashes broke out between police and protesters yet again. Correspondent William Denselow spoke to Ingrid Hipkiss from Brussels.
