Today Auckland Choral is bringing a special performance to the Auckland Town Hall. It's called, "A Call for Peace," and one of the soloists involved, Faamanu Fonoti-Fuimaono, is making his debut with the group. It's an opportunity to hear the exciting young baritone before he takes his talents to the Royal College of Music in London. He joins Susana this morning for a catch-up about this momentus occasion, being one of four opera singing brothers and listening to classical music in the gym.

Tamaki Paenga Hira Auckland Museum was built as a memorial to the First World War for the province of Auckland. This commemorative role is not only embedded in the institution's building and purpose but also formally recognised in legislation. A national initiative, Online Cenotaph is a biographical database that allows researchers, enthusiasts, and veterans and their families to explore, contribute to, and share the records and stories of those who served for Aotearoa New Zealand. Joining the show is Victoria Pasau the manager of Auckland Museum's Online Cenotaph.

Our next guest has created a brand new graphic novel based on his Uncle Ron's wartime adventures. It's titled, "The Takoradi Run," which is what the flight delivery route across the Sahara Desert was known as. Author and illustrator Bob Kerr joins Susana from Wellington.

National treasure Arch Jelley is recognised for his more-than-six-decades-long career coaching leading New Zealand athletes. Arch coached Neville Scott for the 5000 metres at the 1964 Tokyo Olympics and helped Ian Studd win bronze in the mile at the 1966 British Empire and Commonwealth Games. At the 1976 Montreal Olympics Arch coached John Walker to gold in the 1500m. Arch retired in 2018 after coaching Hamish Carson for the 1500m at the 2016 Olympics in Rio. At the age of 103, Arch Jelley is also veteran of WW2 and this ANZAC Day he was the guest speaker at the New Lynn RSA. Susana caught up with Arch to talk about what he describes as "an obsession" - the card game bridge.
