From tomorrow documentary "Mighty Indeed" will be available to watch on RNZ's website. The award winning film is all about Antarctic sea ice, science, conservation and impressive women. In the film Dr Natalie Robinson leads a research expedition to McMurdo Sound. She joins Susana live from Wellington to tell us more.

Director Nina Nawalowalo has spent decades creating theatre in New Zealand and internationally with her company The Conch . During the Covid lockdowns Nina turned to a camera when theatres were closed. The result was her first film "A Boy Called Piano:The Story of Fa'amoana John Luafutu" which won best documentary at the Montreal Independent Film Festival in 2022. Nina's just back from Fiji and she caught up with Susana earlier this week.

May is turning into a month of book events around the motu. In Featherston Wairarapa Booktown Karukatea Festival includes, "Mrs Blackwell's Mother's Day Afternoon Tea: Between The Covers" at Featherston Anzac Hall. It's a book yarn between Gemma McCaw and novelist Josie Shapiro. Gemma McCaw is mother, wife, athlete, Olympian, wellbeing advocate and her Instagram has become the go-to place for book recommendations that span genre, taste, and style. Gemma joins Susana for a chat.

Sarah Johnston is a brilliant sound historian who has been working with recordings made by the New Zealand mobile broadcasting unit during World War 2. Between 1940 and 1945 the unit accompanied kiwi forces to North Africa, The Middle East, Italy and the Pacific. She joins the show to tell Susana all about the unit and some of her latest work, including how the mobile unit covered events in Takrouna and J-Force recordings.

In a pithy article on The Spinoff, Breton Dukes said he wants to be buried with a book of the pictures his, "kids drew. Images of our dog, images of dragons, images of me and my wife. Images of demons and ice creams." And he's keen as for his latest book - his debut novel 'Party Boy' to be picked up for screen - either the ones in our homes or the big screen. Breton's in the line up at this year's Auckland Writers Festival Waituhi o Tamaki and I was drawn to his masterclass Writing Fact Into Fiction "how do you make the leap from lived experience into exaggeration." Fortunately he squeezed a catch up with Susana into his school holiday schedule.

ANZAC commemorations are being observed around the world this weekend. In the town of Le Quesnoy in the north of France the ANZAC programme is just wrapping up. Just a week before the end of the First World War in November 1918, the New Zealand Division captured the French town of Le Quesnoy from the Germans in a dramatic liberation. It was New Zealanders last major action in the war. To this day, the town of Le Quesnoy recognises the important role New Zealand played in its history. Le Quesnoy is the home of the New Zealand Liberation Museum Te Arawhata - Susana speaks with its director Elizabeth Wratislav.
