New Zealand Soprano Joanne Roughton-Arnold premieres a one woman opera in London this week.  Iris Dreaming is based on the life of New Zealand writer and pioneering feminist, Iris Wilkinson, who wrote under the pseudonym Robin Hyde. Her most famous novel The Godwits Fly was published shortly before she took her own life in 1938.

Stuart Maunder from New Zealand Opera talks about a fundraising concert for soprano Anna Leese and her husband Stefano Guidi, who has Motor Neurone Disease. The concert will raise funds for the couple and their son Matteo, to assist with medical expenses.

Andrew Simon is principal clarinet of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra and an old friend of Music Director Marc Taddei from Orchestra Wellington with whom he plays the Mozart clarinet concerto this weekend. The New York born clarinettist has been living in the East for several years and talk about his experiences playing music in North Korea.
