Judge Arun Subramanian rejected Sean "Diddy" Combs' request for a new trial and the rapper's demand for an acquittal days before his scheduled sentencing.

Subramanian said the prosecution provided "overwhelming evidence" of Diddy's guilt on the charges of transportation to engage in prostitution.

Diddy could spend a maximum of 20 years behind bars, 10 years for each count he was convicted of. The prosecution recommended 135 months (just over 11 years) for his sentencing.

Government shuts down after Congress deadlocks on spending deal

The federal government is officially entering a partial shutdown on Wednesday after the midnight funding deadline passed with Democrats and Republicans failing to agree on a funding bill.

An earlier attempt by Senate Republicans to pass a short-term extension of fiscal year (FY) 2025 government funding levels, called a continuing resolution (CR), was sunk by Democrats who were furious about being sidelined in shutdown negotiations.

World's tallest bridge cuts 2-hour mountain trip to just 2 minutes

The Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge opened to traffic for the first time on Sunday — and now claims to be the world’s tallest and largest span bridge in a mountainous area, according to Chinese state media. Located in China's Guizhou Province, the bridge hangs over the Beipan River and crosses through the Huajiang Canyon. The bridge is reportedly 2,050 feet above the river. It stretches nearly 10,000 feet long, with a main span of about 5,000 feet.

Another Wacko Shoots up an ICE facility in Dallas

A gunman killed one person and injured two others after opening fire on a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility from a nearby building before taking his own life, police say. The agency earlier mistakenly said two detainees had been killed.

Sources familiar with the investigation into the Dallas immigration facility shooting identified Wednesday's alleged attacker as Joshua Jahn, 29.

A photo posted on X by FBI Director Kash Patel showed what appeared to be rifle-caliber ammunition affixed to a clip. The rounds were engraved with an "anti-ICE" message.
