  • S1 E12: Visions of Death

As Arthas patiently waits for his friends, he meets an old beggar woman wandering the streets. After he generously hands over the last of his coin, the figure transforms into the god Gnodda and bestows his blessing on the Giant-kin. Shortly thereafter Jokul, Rialla and Eight arrive, bringing the ledger and the body of Hassan. With a little convincing, the group is finally able to prove their innocence to the captain and his guards.

In the morning, Rialla heads into the market to obtain materials for her scrying ritual. She manages to find a curio shop run by an enigmatic elven woman with a strange tattoo. When the shopkeeper reveals her ability to see into a person’s past, Rialla returns in kind by sharing her own vision of the shopkeeper’s death.

  • S1 E11: To Catch a Thief

Determined to protect their friends, Eight makes the first attack against Hassan. Rialla and Jokul are quick to join in the fray, their contributions making it difficult for their adversaries to gain any ground in the fight. In a stroke of genius, Rialla conjures up Hassan’s worst fear to successfully distract him. Using his spiked chain, Jokul is then able to quickly dispatch the would-be king of thieves.

Lily and Marcus now beg for mercy and freedom. While Eight is determined to see an end to them for what they’ve done, Rialla and Jokul agree to let the pair go so long as they promise to live out the rest of their lives as respectable citizens. Gathering up their belongings, the group now wonders what has become of Arthas.

  • S1 E10: The Thief Below

Rialla, Jokul and Eight head down into the sewers to meet with the thieves’ guild of Kadiba. There they find the man who had introduced himself as Hassan when they met him outside of Ki’Ran. He attempts to convince the trio that they should join his guild and help them to branch out into the rest of the world. If they don’t, Rialla and Jokul are threatened with death and Eight would be rewired to serve the guild's needs.

Rialla does her best to try and negotiate for their freedom, while Eight attempts to sway Hassan’s mind. Both to no avail. When Eight is frustrated by their failure and angered at the implication that they would no longer be free, drastic measures are taken.

  • S1 E9: A Moment Alone

Three companions make their way to The Grumpy Goat, the rendezvous point for the thieves’ guild of Kadiba. They book a room from the proprietor, a Procid named Tek, using the false name “Ranier”. Once they are alone in the privacy of their room, Rialla explains to Jokul and Eight that she lied to the guild about their involvement with the bird, which is what has prompted the midnight meeting.

Jokul meticulously cleans his blades in preparation, and Rialla tries to scry using her recently recovered mirror to determine the significance of the bird. Unfortunately, she realizes in this process that her mirror has been cleansed and she’ll need to reattune to it in order to use it.

As Eight takes time to rearrange their plating in an effort to make their stature seem more imposing, Jokul and Rialla head down to the dining area to enjoy their first meal alone in weeks. They reminisce on what has happened since they met, and ponder what the future holds.

  • S1 E8: The Citadel

Jokul and Rialla continue to follow the rooftops until they reach The Citadel, the location mentioned in the thieves’ cant they had spotted earlier. Upon entry they are greeted by a kindly old priest, and they implemented the facade of romantically involved tourists who had come to see the beautiful building and hear its services.

When the old priest leaves, Rialla notices a young woman - a thief - disguised as a priestess. Rialla manages to gather her courage and is able to deceive the priestess into divulging information regarding the bird, telling her that they were supposed to make the exchange but got caught instead. Meanwhile, Jokul examines the large organ he noticed propped away from the wall. He discovers that one of the keys is missing and the organ is farther from the wall because there is a door hidden behind it. The pair then learn that they must meet the thieves at midnight outside of an inn called The Grumpy Goat.

Eight, on the other hand, is accosted by a man who is set on scaring Eight away from the alley. In an attempt to persuade him to share secrets, the warforged learns that this man is actually in disguise and is then left to deal with the violent consequences of the discovery. The cowardly rogue flees to The Citadel, at which point he is apprehended by Eight.

When the group reconvenes, they decide it is best to leave the man trapped out in the open than to cause a bigger scene, and head for The Grumpy Goat. Jokul and Rialla leave first and, after a time, Eight follows them in a questionable disguise.

  • S1 E7: Thieves Can't What?

Jokul, Rialla and Eight head out into the city of Kadiba to start looking for the thieves. Their dear friend, Arthas, is now being held by the guards as incentive to complete their task. If they can't find the real thieves in twenty-four hours then all four of them forfeit their freedom.

They decide the best way to locate them is to draw pictures to show the citizens. Rialla locates some thieves' cant hidden on one of the buildings and Jokul is able to find a pathway that the thieves might use to wander the city safely.  Deciding to follow the pathway, Jokul and Rialla take to the rooftops while Eight wanders the streets with the thieves' cant key Rialla gave them. Eight is the first to locate someone, but are they what the warforged was looking for?

  • S1 E6: The Bird and the Bartender

Four companions wake to find they have been robbed of any belongings not on their person while they slept - including what little food and water they had left. In exchange, they find they have been gifted the bird that Rialla had noticed the night before. Luckily, Jokul is able to find the barest of tracks still remaining in the sand, allowing the party to follow the thieves northward.

This final leg of their trek across the desert brings them to Kadiba, a city of white stone and gleaming golden rooftops. Feeling they can’t trust the city guards with their dilemma, the group decides to find a place to get a meal and some water before searching for the thieves. While enjoying their meal, the bartender notices their feathered companion and alerts the guards. It turns out the creature had been stolen from a resident of the city and the party now stands accused of the crime.
