MINI, Ford, Chevrolet, Dodge, and BMW. All currently have vehicles for sale that offer a manual gearbox as an option for motorists. In the case of MINI and Ford, the manual gearbox was actually returned to the line-up in the case of MINI, the 2-door hardtop, and Ford for a no-holes barred version of its popular Bronco SUV. But with just an industry average take rate of just 3 percent (it had been as high as 9 percent in recent years), can automakers continue to make a business case to keeps the manual shifters in production?
