He’s described as the Edison of Medicine, whose inventions have saved or improved lives of more than two billion people. His laboratory at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology is the largest biomedical engineering lab in the world. He was awarded numerous prizes, including the Queen Elizabeth Prize for Engineering. He is the most cited engineer in history.
