Flow

Now lets talk about work because true creativity takes a lot of work you have to fully grasp your task tools and actions and you cant be restricted by time or ego it almost has to come naturally in a state of flow. Flow is the sweet spot is the feeling you get when your reading a book and every word grips you and you lose track of you surroundings or when you drive your car and suddenly your home and you don’t even remember how you got there. Its when your most free and most productive because what your doing comes effortlessly and with out force. When I’m in a state of flow feel as a bird must feel flying through the air because I’m doing what I’m supposed to be doing and I’m using all of highest potentials at once or I’m at least enjoying my work with all of my body mind and spirit. So how to we find and harness flow to unleash our creative genius. First we just get started so many flimmy flamy growth books what you to be a little baby but creativity happens when you are creating so get started when ever don’t want to get started just start on the easiest part first and is you can think of anything you can always start sweeping money and creativity like clean get started. Next if you still hate what your doing then do something else you enjoy as long as it productive ( not TV) Now is not distraction time now is moving time creating time trying to find flow. Now for one or two weeks you work on your task and when you find your self in a state of flow at the end of it right down the time of day and what you were doing when flow arrived and if it doesn’t arrive after 2 week quit what ever your doing your broken and need to go back to the drawing board. What you’ll find is a time of day when your effort are truly aligning and you are able to step into your flow of life. Once you have found when you are in a state of flow you now have to grow and use it like a muscle. You need to train you flow to dance with you as often as possible and you see there are hours of the day or triggers of the work period that allow you to work effortlessly and at you full potential. Maybe it will come after good food or a meditation period the important thing is to understand that this time and act is important its yours and you have to fight for you flow.

Ego / Roles

To unleash your creative genius you have to have balance with your ego. A fool is easily convinced by her ego where as a creative genius is a realest only bound by the laws of physics she can take a step back and see when her ego is rationalizing and not being real. See so much of our lives to day have been programed into us by the world around us and we get so worked up pretending to play the roles our ego and people have told us to play. Just because you work at a job doesn’t mean that who you are and just because things in your past happened doesn’t mean that there have a hold of you now. I here to tell you that the voice in your head is a liar and is full of shit staring now I want you to learn to sit back and watch your thoughts as they come in to your mind, Then don’t react to them but in stead let them fly by clouds. I want you to imagine for a second that you have a tennis ball in your hand, now through the ball in the air. This is were you can take control of you life, This is the space between stimulus and response. Your ego is going to tell you to catch the tennis ball but the truth is you are in control you have no control over the tennis ball but you do have control over your life so can chose to react or not react and simply let the tennis ball pass. So many people are trapped by there ego trapped in the egos story. You cant escape from a prison you don’t know your in. So every day take back your life look at the story you tell your self and realize you can be anything you can go any where and as soon as you say those truths to your self your ego will pop into your head that is the small you that is not your creative genius speaking. For a while you have to completely take control of your life away from your ego you have to do what actually creates love in your life but there must a balance as with all things to much of a good things is not always good. See you don’t want to live for your ego because your ego is a little bitch and wants nothing to change and nothing to be different the complete opposite of your creative genius but when you fall down your ego can also help up see there’s a balance and you have to be aware enough to understand. When you fail on your creative journey its ok to let you ego pick you up and tell you everything’s going to alright but as soon as your ego turns negative you have to turn it off be in the present moment escape the chatter and noise of the human maze and realize your just a beautiful monkey on a small blue plant healing through space. You can do and be what ever you want and right now you want to be a creative genius. Control your ego and find your balance learn to watch your thoughts don’t let any negative thoughts effect you and don’t create for your ego create for growth create to be useful create for something more then mindless chatter. Now that you have grasp on your ego its time to talk about roles that the world has placed you in young, old, male, female, race, career, religion all these come with so many stigmatisms and baggage that are lies passed down but they are not the truth you can see right through them and see that there made up and the people are just playing these roles and by watching other play there roles it is only powering them more. You though can be different live different you can free your self to be real and true and free to do what you want and live the life of a creative genius. 

Let the Perfect be the enemy of Good

Be unreasonable with your work always push your self to do the very best you can especially if its your creation your work the purpose of art is to chase ugliness away. So make perfect the enemy of good imagine how others will see it imagine and create all aspects as perfectly as possible. Steve jobs wouldn’t ship the first mac computers because he didn’t like the way the circuit looked even tongue one would ever see the circuit board he learned from his father who was made that would build things that when a professional carpenter is putting up a cabinet that you use the same quality wooden the back pieces as would on the front piece because its your work even if no one will ever see the back of a cabinet. See there is no short cuts if you want to be a creative genius there are ways of working smarter but there are no short cuts. Let the perfect be the enemy of the good sometimes the smallest aspects of something can have the greatest detail and in the end that’s the reason it becomes something amazing.

Ride the waves / Creative muses

The greeks were the first people to research creativity and they came to the conclusion that when creativity shows up it is because of a godlike muse has helped because creativity is god like and in order to capture it you have to be suited and choosen by the muses. Now this is a little out there but none the less when you are in a state of flow or you feel an extra power helping you to create your master pieces its good to ride the wave feel the power and go with and ride it out. The greeks are not the only ones that thought this Indians used to play music and dance around the fire saying they were being taken over the spirts. So keep an open mind when you show up each day to work that some times the muses want to work with you and other days you have just plow through but its important to keep that time available to do your work even with creativity isn’t stricking making a habbit of having the time and set up ready for when the creative waves stick is important.

Creative Disciplines

To become a master of your craft you are going to have to learn to never miss a practice and be a disciplined person when it come to becoming truly creative. The creative disciplines are. The Michael Jordan discipline witch is practice the basics every day, the idea machine discipline work or your ideas and ideas lists every day till you become an idea machine, always write and draw and keep a journal make a habit of emptying your mind on the page and creating your ideas down on paper, make a discipline of learning and reading every day, make a discipline of meditating and clearing your mind a watching your thoughts freeing you and allowing you to be in the now and make a habit of finding a flow straight of work every day and fight for your time of flow work and make a habit of relaxing. People may think this is a lot of disciplines to do each day but its not you just set a side a little time each day and do it never miss a practice and if you ever miss one day never miss to sooner or later the disciplines will become easy they will each have the own time and you life will begin to take new powerful shapes and you unleash your creative genius.

Go Down the rabbit hole

Like fire needs air to start so the creative soul needs freedom, freedom to explore down new rabbit holes and new frontiers. Its difficult now to start new roads as well as stay on them to see where they lead so much entitlement in the modern world makes people think that they have to to stick to one way of living when in fact the world is there playground and they can do and try all sorts of new things and some times when you veer off the main course it can miraculously take you right back only with new and fresh eyes and a will to work even harder on your creative outlet. But how do we actually break free so much of our lives our built up from habits we've formed some times the habit is getting a job we hate then losing that job and getting another job hate just because we are to unsure of our selves or to afraid to actually live the life we want. I want you to challenge your self to go down new rabbit holes be some that when ever you feel a great curiosity on a subject you realize the opportunity the universe is giving you and the momentum you feel on the subject can take you down new and incredible out comes. Though it is important to stay focused when we know what we want some times we are to stupid to pick our heads up and look around sometime the answer we've been seeking all along is there and we just have taken the time to explore and go down the rabbit hole right in our own neighbor hood. So next time you get an ich to explore new topic as long as it has some entrust or opportunity allow your self to break free and explore the new. I recommend when ever you get interested in a new subject to go strait to the best and learn from them say you want to learn car mechanics find the best mechanic in town and talk to them or find the best mechanic course and books but always go straight to the top and learn who is at the tip of the spear so you can learn the hard truth right away and not waist time.

Relentlessly curios

Leonardo DaVinci was a man how was famously curious and because of his curiosity his legacy has stood the test of time. In the biography by Walter Isakson on of his favorite notes DaVinci left was “Learn about the wood peckers tongue” witch is an odd thing to for anyone to write but it was just this kind of curiosity that Leonardo would let him self get curios about and when these curios tangents of ideas would arise he would become fully involved and get lost in his curiosity. Curiosity is what keeps us fresh if we only do the same thing day in and day out we become bland and unenthusiastic with life it is some times child like to be curious about things and as adults we’ve usually worked so hard to define our selves as a way of being that we don’t allow are selves to explore other paths or try other things and be a curios child once again. In today society people tend feel as if they don’t need to learn thing for them selves any more they just have to google it or watch documentary on instead of putting in the work or getting your hands dirty and searching through different opinions and ideas on till you can form your own stance on a thing. Its good to stay curios and realize there’s problem some aspect of everything that is still a curious thing and there is always more to learn on a subject. Curiosity is what keeps you smart because it will take you on investigations and explorations and learning it is a key in human development and the process of learning and desire to acquire knowledge and skill. Curiosity as a behavior and emotion is attributed over millennia as driving force behind not only human development, but development in science language and industry. Being curios helps you to form social connections because you can become curios about lifestyles, thoughts and beliefs of other people creating stronger social connections.

Idea Machine

Become an idea machine. Everyday when you wake up or during the day when you feel right begin the habit of becoming an idea machine meaning take out a pen and paper and write down as many ideas as you can possibly think of. These can be lists they can be ideas they can titles all that matters is you learn how to warm up your idea muscle and you make a concrete habit of working you idea creation part of your brain. This is a habit creativity and creative problem solving wouldn’t it be incredible if when ever you had a problem your brain would already be ready to flex its creative idea muscles to give you answers to solve your problem. So every day write down or record your self coming up with as many ideas as you possibly can and become an idea machine. When the author Hemingway had to come up with a title for one of his books he would begin a list of as many titles that came to mind soon as he was unable or had enough titles he would begin to remove all the ones he did not like sometimes even all of them. Hemingway would do the same act some times when he was trying to write the ending to his books he would write as many endings as he felt necessary and then he would eliminate the ending he didn’t like and when he couldn’t decide he would ask his friends to help pick the best ending to some of his books. When creating ideas its important to not be judgmental or put limitations on your ideas you need to be free to create and push your idea machine to its limits like you were weight lifting so every day work your idea machine to its limits and you will find you the creative genius you ideas you are looking for.

Journaling 

If your serious about becoming a wealthy, powerful, sophisticated, healthy , influential, cultured and unique individual, keep a journal. - Jim Rohn

After you have fully visualized your creative idea its time to jump into action and start creating if you can’t immediately begin work its good to draw or journal but make sure you let every aspect of your idea poor on to the paper and forget grammar of using your eraser just get it out of your head and into the real world. Allow your self brain dump by getting evry thing that comes to your mind out see there will be a time for editing but right now is the time to journal and draw get as many creative ideas down as you can and you can do this for as long as you possibly can. It is said that Steven Segiul wrote all of rocky in three nights with out stopping because the inspiration struck him and had to finish his flow of ideas. Journaling is one of the most powerful skills of the creative the genius, journaling every day can reduce stress create clarity allow you to dig into your true feeling gives you a point of view and a reassurance of who you are and helps you build your record of your legendary stories.

Visualization

It all starts in the mind as an ideas. A young J.K. Rowling was stranded at a train station and had one hour to wait before the next train JK Rowling while waiting for the train she had an idea about a story of young wizards going off to a wizarding school not having a pen and being to shy to ask for one she simply let her imagination run wild with as many ideas about the wizarding story as she could and now today she is one of the most famous writers ever. Visualizing is the art of holding an image in your head using visualization as a creative force is what will make you creative genius. So every time you feel a new creative idea (make sure you write it down) but in your minds eye try and visualize all aspects of what it is. Leonardo Davinci used to go the highest buildings in Italy and look over entire villages and sketch for hours as if he was looking down on the citys from a bird view and when he was commissioned to paint the last super in a church he would look at his painting from every angle and adjust how part of it would look to people when they would approach from many different angles. Einstein used to sit at the patent house he worked at imaging what would happen if he were to ride a beam light allowing him self to let his imagination run free. So when creativity strikes hold no judgments and let your imagination run free imagining what you want to create from all angles and as many aspects as you can imagine and hold in your mind.
