I can't bring myself to celebrate this 4th of July, what is there to celebrate? A pandemic, a divisive president, gridlocked congress? I'll give you my thoughts on this all and I'll also be talking to two young folks who will critically analyze this holiday and what it means to them and BIPOC. 

 Corporations have screwed over people of color going back generations by placing work plants or dumping chemicals near their home. This is called Environmental Racism yet not enough people know about this. Today, we'll be talking to Miriam Robles (no relation) she is the Environmental Activism Coordinator for Mi Familia Vota-Arizona, she'll educate us more on this issue and how we've seen this is Arizona. 

Today, the Supreme Court ruled in favor of the DACA program therefore, protecting millions of undocumented immigrants from deportation. This is a historical and huge win but the fight is not yet over. On today's show, we're talking to Jaime Tadeo a DACA recipient to get his take on today's decision and to discuss what life is like living with uncertainty about the future. 

It's Pride Month and I'm kicking it off with a conversation with one of my best friends, Noah Rios. We get candid as he talks about coming out and  being gay in the Latinx community and how toxic masculinity comes into play. 

Yesterday after the #BlackLivesMatter rally, young activistas took their frustration to the streets and eventually shut down the interstate. I interviewed some amazing young folks once again and captured sound from when we were marching on the interstate. 

These past few days, women on twitter have courageously spoken out about their experiences with sexual abuse. This has even resorted to the listing of names of young men in Tucson who have raped, sexually assaulted, abused, or harassed. I commend these women for being incredibly courageous. In this episode we'll learn more about what has been going down and what we must do to BE BETTER.  

Montrell has been vocal and marching these past few days in the wake of the George Floyd murder. I'll be speaking to him to get his thoughts on what is going on and what he plans on saying when he speaks at the March for Justice and Black Lives Matter rallies this week. 

Marches have been rising all across the country in response to George Floyd's unjust death. I went to the march in downtown Tucson last night. I was there for hours and caught some audio of some pretty amazing young people who told me why they were there. Although it's a short episode, it's extremely powerful. 

George Floyd was murdered by Law Enforcement in Minneapolis, Minnesota. People are rioting and demanding justice. Today, I'm giving you my thoughts on the situation and speaking to Marina, an African American/Hispanic mother to 2 young men of color in this country about her reality and reaction to the insurmountable amount of injustice in this country. She speaks truth to power.
