  • Sitting in judgement of the Snyder Cut ... a study in contrasts. (#643)
ROBSERVATIONS host Robert Meyer Burnett talks about how the major trade magazines and websites have all weighed in on Zack Snyder’s Justice League (a.k.a. The Snyder Cut) and yet many of them have not seen it. The responses have been divisive - with some fawning over the production and others strongly reacting against it.

Why is that? Rob takes a closer look through the eyes of an “Imagination Connoisseur.”

Programming Note: RMB will watch the show when it debuts on Wednesday night and will then stream a “first reaction” video at 3:00 am (PDT), early Thursday morning. Stay tuned to The Burnettwork website and social media for more information.

Rob also shares letters and reviews from fans of the show as well as answers questions posed by the folks participating in the show through its livestream chat.

  • Zack Snyder discusses his rought and tumble ride with JUSTICE LEAGUE. (#642)
Writer-producer-director, Robert Meyer Burnett, is looking forward to the premier of Zack Snyder’s 4-hour cut of JUSTICE LEAGUE. RMB also announced that he will be hosting a live show at 3am (PST) on Thursday morning following his screening of the film to talk about his reaction to the film and to answer questions from fans. The show will be spoiler-free.

Then, Thursday night, RMB will be watching the premier of FALCON AND THE WINTER SOLDIER. And then on May 25th, the “ultimate cut” of BATMAN V SUPERMAN is due out.

RMB reviews a recent NY Times story in which Snyder recounts his experience of trying to bring his vision of the JUSTICE LEAGUE to the silver screen. Snyder had to overcome various obstacles (both creative and financial) to produce the 4-hour cut that will be seen later this week.

RMB also shares letters and commentary from fellow Imagination Connoisseurs of the Post-Geek Singularity and then moves on to answering questions from fans in the livestream chat.

  • Is the Snyder Cut having the desired effect on HBO Max? (#640)
    #ZackSnydersJusticeLeague #HBOMax #StreamingMedia

ROBSERVATIONS host, Robert Meyer Burnett, takes a closer look at the Snyder Cut and how it’s affecting HBO Max’s business. Will the realizing of Zack Snyder’s vision of the DCEU drive enough subscriptions to HBO Max to justify the estimated $70 million production budget?

Reviewing this article from Deadline (https://deadline.com/2021/03/hbo-max-warnermedia-streaming-jason-kilar-1234713108/), RMB opines on the business rationale behind the decision - and even breaks into a less-than-satisfying Lionel Ritchie impression, but that’s another story for another day - and how event programming like the Snyder Cut works with the upcoming ad-supported tier of HBO which should roll out this summer.

RMB also responds to letters from fellow Imagination Connoisseurs and answers questions from fans in the livestream chat.
