  • TENET resurrects the global box office. (#505)
Writer-producer-director, Robert Meyer Burnett shares information about the global release of the latest Christopher Nolan film, TENET. The film's global release is seen by many as a test of the world's appetite for going back to movie theaters in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Although the film has generated over $200M in box office worldwide, that's far short of the kind of numbers it needs to do to be considered financially successful. But is that a result of the public health crisis or some genuine disagreement about the quality of the film, itself? RMB has an opinion, of course, and asks his fellow Imagination Connoisseurs to write in with their thoughts, too.

Rob then reads and discusses recently received emails from fans and answers questions from those participating in the livestream chat.

  • Viewer letters never fail to impress. (#623)
Writer-producer-director Robert Meyer Burnett takes time away from entertainment news to spend time answering letters received over the previous ten days. Covering subjects from time-traveling James Bond to whether or not the X-men already exist in the MCU (we just haven't seen them yet).

Rob also spends some time answering the question of whether or not filmmakers should be fans of the franchises they direct. The answer might surprise you.

In addition to responding to letters from fellow Imagination Connoisseurs, RMB also takes some time out to respond to questions posed by fans in the livestream chat.

  • The revolution of THE JUSTICE LEAGUE trailer. (#621)
Join host Robert Meyer Burnett as he takes a closer look at what critics are saying about the "Snyder Cut" of JUSTICE LEAGUE. How is director Zack Snyder's approach to telling the stories of these heroes different from what audiences saw when the film (heavily edited and revised by Joss Wheden and the studio) in 2017?

Rob celebrates the state of genre entertainment today - never before have we seen so many opportunities, so many stories and so many productions of considerable value and appeal. So how do we learn to appreciate what we like and allow others to enjoy entertainment that may not connect with us? Time will tell - but The Burnettwork will be there to celebrate it all with you.

Plus RMB reads and discusses a number of letters from fellow Imagination Connoisseurs and responds to questions from fans in the live stream during the show.

  • Joker reaction, Scorcese on the MCU, and having a philosophy. (#240)
Writer-director-producer, Robert Meyer Burnett, shares his thoughts (without spoilers) on the newly-released film, JOKER. Todd Phillips' film is more than just a simple homage to Martin Scorsese's TAXI DRIVER and KING OF COMEDY - and RMB explains why.

Also yesterday, Scorsese offered his thoughts on how he views comic book movies - not considering them "cinema" but more like a "theme park ride."

Rob also reads and reacts to viewer letters and answers questions from viewers in the live chat.
