Prosper Eagle Nation Online Adviser Lisa Roskens and Rock Hill High School Hill Top Times Adviser Taylor Mersmann team up to take listeners on a tour of the signature sounds of New Orleans. They intended to focus on five, but so many more grabbed the mic’s attention.
On this trip, listeners will meet waiter Cedric Castanza, a native to the city, who served both color and life with the Juan’s Flying Burrito entrees. Cedric leads listeners then to the musicians of Jackson Square.
There, the notes of the Jackson Square All-stars entertained the 20-minute line of beneigh customers in front of the historic Cafe de Monde. Trombone player Revert Andrews and tuba expert Ben Hillier narrate the experience.
Then, the teacher reporters encounter the preparations for the funeral of former Lt. Gov. James “Jimmy” Edward Fitzmorris, who died Wednesday, June 30 at 99 years old.
The sounds of the fountain and horse’s hooves also grabbed attention.
Then, New Orleans city employee Pierce Huff discusses crime, the sounds of emergency vehicles as well as the soul of the city, which he said is so complex, it’s sound is indistinguishable.
Finally, longtime resident and former yearbook adviser Hector Trau Jr. narrates a final streetcar ride.
