Radio puebla 107.7fm welcomes you all to a cornucopia of music reminiscences… On rock music memories this week, we will slip back to those sizzling sexy seventies to see what you remember about them through the music… Some of the music tonight has something of a Swedish flavour to it, pop band Abba who will be featured, and paid tribute to by some of the heaviest sounds in metal… So sit back or jump to your feet when that certain song comes along, and boogie on down, to coin a phrase that was prevalent at the time…
Opening tonight’s feast of memorabilia, is this band from Sweden, Blue Swede who was a Swedish rock band fronted by Björn Skifs and was active 1973–1975. Blue Swede released two albums of cover versions, including a rendition of "Hooked on a Feeling", which brought them international chart success and was featured in the 2014 sci fi comedy/action movie, Guardians of the Galaxy…

Swedish pop group ABBA were formed in Stockholm by Agnetha Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson, and Anni-Frid Lyngstad. They became one of the most commercially successful acts in the history of popular music, topping the charts worldwide from 1974 to 1982. ABBA came to prominence by winning the Eurovision Song Contest 1974 at The Dome in Brighton, UK, giving Sweden its first triumph in the contest, and the accolade of being the most successful group ever to take part in the competition… When one has been raised on rock for eons, its difficult to even contemplate the likes of Abba or their music, however, in recent more enlightened times, I’ve come to appreciate them, more for their song writing ability rather than any other aspect of them, that came about when I heard their music played by several metal bands, the result being, I can now listen to Summer night city, Gimme Gimme Gimme, and Knowing me, Knowing you without a cringe in sight and with a certain amount of admiration for the quartet… Judge for yourselves with Therion, Sinergy, Sargent Fury, Tad Morose and Helloween… This is RMM Abba tribute…
